If Ben was looking a little weirded out today, well, hearing about your grandkid's sex life on the radio'll do that.

"Well, today's the last day of class, and I promised you some explosions," he said, "so suit up."

"Yes, the suits are hot. Yes, they're uncomfortable. But I'm trying to not get you all blown up today, so put 'em on or you can stand over there and play with vinegar and baking soda and make paper volcanoes and pretend like it's astral," Ben threatened.

After everyone was suited up to his satisfaction, Ben led them through some basic bomb defusing techniques because what Ben felt was a practical application of mechanics was heavily influenced by his whacked-out life.

"Okay, you can either stick with this or go over to the last area and make rockets," he said with a grin. "I'll be teaching another round of this stuff next session. Hopefully I'll see some of you again."

Via bribing them with explosives today, apparently...

Explosives!

While sweating through your suit. Somewhere a version of Clint is feeling a weird sense of deja vu.

Pour vinegar on colored baking soda. Oooh, fizzy.

You mean all high schoolers don't know how to do this?

Ben gave incredibly detailed instructions on how to disarm the simple bomb ~~that I am in no way looking for on Google because I don't want to meet the NSA thanks~~ and will be watching all of you very closely in this section.

Ben left more generalized instructions over here. You can ditch the bomb suits if you come here to play, but please put on goggles.

About explosives, please. Not Cade. Ew.

Yeah, this was going to be Nathan's activity for today. He wasn't getting near the advanced stuff because he knew that just would not end well with his lack of reading and all.

"Wait," Barry said in the middle of disarming the bomb. "Can't i just let this go off to enjoy the explosion?"

"Only after everyone gets out of the blast zone," Ben said, nodding. "If you get caught in the blast wave, that's your problem."

There was more of Anakin in him than Ben would probably cop to.

Barry sighed and went back to work disarming the bomb. "Maybe I just have a skewed view of what's considered fun."

"Probably, but so do I," Ben said, grinning.

Joker Moreau

Joker regretted putting on the suit long before he was finished. It was heavy, and each additional piece just made it heavier. He didn't know for sure how much weight he could carry without breaking... but he was pretty sure the suit was well over his limit.

With a wistful sigh -- because defusing a bomb -- he began taking it off again.

"Oooooh, fizzy," Joker snarked as he set off his volcano. "This is sooooooo exciting, and not at all something I did back in second grade! Awesome!"

Rockets!

Joker made a bunch of them, to make up for getting stuck with the volcano, and had a blast setting them off.

Eleanor Lamb

Eleanor wasn't scared of many things, but -- given her father's fate -- she had a strong, lingering dislike of bombs.

So she was going to frown and disrobe again. Maybe the rockets would be properly entertaining.
