"Today you're going to Naboo," Anakin told the class as he ate the last of the Bavarian donuts he'd stolen from yesterday's teachers meeting. "It's a Mid Rim planet just before the Outer Rim sectors, but despite its location, Naboo has been a political powerhouse in recent galactic politics. Naboo is a geologically unique world in the galaxy: a plasmic molten outer core surrounded an inner core, believed to be composed primarily of a nickel-iron alloy, with very small amounts of some other elements. These elements are found in abundance in other chemical compositions in the galaxy, but it is the unique properties of the plasma which interested astrophysicists, plasma which the two primary civilizations harnessed to supply clean and efficient energy highly valued throughout the galaxy," Anakin explained. "The plasmic magma seethes and bubbles from the center of the planet carving labyrinths of winding tunnels and caverns similar to lava tubes of traditional magma flows. Much of these abyssal labyrinths were submerged in great underground oceans, which were home to immense aquatic animals and creatures that were never seen on the surface, but you'll see some today. Animals such as the colo claw fish, opee sea killer, sando aqua monster and others inhabit this underworld realm. Gungans dominated these underwaterways, using them as a highway of sorts between their surface Holy Places and their underwater cities. The Gungans also used these tunnels for trading between Bubble cities. You'll see some Gungans, too, ones who are a little less irritating than Senator Binks."

Which wasn't hard, Anakin's tone added.

"Humans also live on Naboo, primarily in the lake country or near the capital city of Theed, which in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful places in both of our galaxies. You'll spend some time there as well." He gestured to the portal. "Off you go."

Confused by how physics worked in Anakin's galaxy.

At least it's not a planet designed to eat you?

Taking a rebreather, you must swim into the Lianorn Swamp and reach the Gungan city located inside of it. The Gungan at the city's gates will hand you your next clue.

This could be a very long road block if you don't know how to swim...

In Read It, travel from the Gungan city to the human capital of Theed where you must find the royal library. Using the lists Anakin has written for you in Basic (which looks nothing like English, sorry), look up and bring back four biographies about Padme Naberrie Amidala, one of the most famous queens the planet has ever had.

In Wear It, you travel to the Royal Palace and get to be dressed up like one of the Queen's bodyguards (yes, even if you're not a woman). Using bodyguards as body doubles in a long tradition in Naboo, so hopefully you enjoy elaborate hairstyles and bright red dresses. Once you are attired correctly, make your way to Anakin and Jessica. Still in costume. Heh.

I'm sure some of you look extremely fabulous.

Anakin looks a little less relaxed on this planet than usual, but at least he didn't make everyone meet him back in Portalocity?

Okay, Barry totally knew how to swim. He really did.

But he spent way too much time swimming around the Gungan city examining the technology that was used.

After spending too much time swimming around Barry decided to take what he thought was the quick route and decided to wear it.

He immediately regretted the decision when he had to start applying white-face makeup and wigs.

"Be honest. You made us do this so we would wear a dead chicken on our heads."

Emma...knew how to dog paddle.

Kind of.

It took her a while to get the hang of this one.

Wear It seemed like the best way for Emma to make up some time here.

Even if people kept stroking her hair and talking about it being a pity to cover it up with the darker wigs.

"I have hair horns." Frankly, she was surprised the sheer weight of this thing wasn't giving her neck damage.

Anakin burst out laughing. "It certainly doesn't hurt," he finally choked out.

Alana knew how to swim just fine. In a pool, like a civilized person. Working around all the stuff in a swamp was new. she tried to go extra-fast so she wouldn't have to think about the gunk getting on her skin.

Barry glared at his teacher for a few seconds before he actually said anything.

"I'm keeping the fucking hat."

Swimming was...not Nathan's strong point. Not at all. And having trouble with the rebreather just compounded it. He managed to stay afloat and not die but he was way behind because he could not swim.

Nathan didn't want to do either of these. He chose Wear It since reading would just lead to him being there forever. Once he got there, he almost reconsidered because he didn't want people to dress him and question him.

Alana loved books, but she loved dress-up too -- and that one sounded easier. Off to the Royal Palace she went.

The dress and makeup went on quickly enough, but she revised her opinion the challenge was a piece of cake once she tried to walk wearing the costume. Naboo women must have had special powers.

Alana's attempt to make it to the finish line was more of a fast hobble than a run. "So Queen Padme got to stand still a lot, right?"

"Yes, you do," Anakin agreed, grinning. "That's quite a look."

"In those outfits, yes," Anakin said. "Other times, she'd make a double wear it and go off and have adventures."

This was the best idea Anakin'd had in weeks. Still chortling, he waved his hand toward the portal. "You really make it work. You're sixth today."

"Those dressers were joking, right?" Emma said. "There's no way this is practical outfit."

"They were primarily ceremonial," Anakin said. "Especially the hair things. You're second today."

Emma blinked. "How much worse are everyone else's outfits going to be?" Because she knew she hadn't won any speed prizes on the swimming task.

Anakin smirked. "Soooo much worse. The Queens of Naboo have an infamous sense of style. Stick around if you want."

"Good, I like her," Alana said approvingly. "Probably she learned more doing that than she could have dressed like this. Also, very effective use of doubles."

Anakin's smile had turned lopsided and fond. "They were nice women, and terrifyingly efficient. You do not want to cross a Queen's bodyguard."

Barry groaned. "Great. One of these days I'm not going to screw around so much getting here."

Anakin shrugged. "As long as you're not dead, I don't really care."

"I bet," Alana nodded, smiling at the way he smiled. It made him look less like a scary teacher guy and more like an actual person. "Makes sense they wouldn't get the job just because they looked pretty."

A pause as she checked for anybody else from class. "So did I win? Or did everybody else already go home?"

"You've won," Anakin said, smiling again. "Good work."

Jessica Drew

Jessica had to admit, she wished more people tried Read It. It would just be fun to find out who could successfully figure that out.

Oy. She managed through sheer force of will, but did not enjoy the process. Swimming. Not something she'd ever really had cause to do before.

Threats. Amazing how well they worked. Even when she didn't really speak the language. Roaring at them in Leontine and pointing to the list and demanding really worked wonders.

People brought the books to her quite speedily just to get her to go away.

Kaylin arrived, still a bit damp, but in her own clothes and a bit smug. Any day she got to threaten people was a good day.
