Basic Cookery, Period One

Today, everyone had a box of Kraft Dinner macaroni and cheese in front of them, as well as a hot plate and everything else necessary to cook some fake-cheesy goodness.

"My research," by which he means Wikipedia, "tells me that this 'macaroni and cheese' is an important part of the diet of students who have moved away from home for the first time. So, it is only fitting that we try it here."

He walked the students through cooking and preparing the pasta, and when they were done, indicated the front of the classroom. Much like the day they'd made grilled cheeses, the table was stocked with several different ingredients, as well as some instructions. "If you feel like a challenge, there are some more complex recipes available for you to try," he offered. "As well, it occurred to me that perhaps some of you might like to take what you created today back to the dorms to share with your fellow students, so feel free to do so," and indeed, it looked as if he'd basically bought out the rubbermaid aisle of the store in town.

Macaroni and cheese wasn't exactly a staple in her house, but Kira got excited anyway, and gathered everything up to make oven macaroni and cheese with the crunchy stuff on top.

Shhh "crunchy stuff" was totally an ingredient.

Macaroni and cheese wasn't too hard a dish to make. Nathan ignored the instructions (because he couldn't read them) and went to work on getting the dish together as best he could.

Kaylin had never seen anything like it, but boy, it wasn't bad at all!
