Advanced Criminal Justice, Monday, Period 3
The Danger Shop looked like the interior of a warehouse today, so things were a little different. There was also a table with your weapons of choice, so they weren't that different.
"Not all fights are about you fighting off wave after wave of grunts," Batman said. "Sometimes those grunts are better organized. Sometimes they know how to work as a team. Sometimes they're aided by an actual leader. For today, we'll assume that this is a leader who joins his grunts into battle. If you encounter this, you have two basic options: Focus on the leader and take him down to cause disorder among his troops, or pick off the grunts first so you won't get distracted when you're fighting your toughest opponent."
"I'll usually choose the latter, since it also forces the leader to change his strategies on the fly. And I'm better at that than he is." That was a blanket statement to keep you warm with Batman's self-confidence.
"If you go for the boss first, attempting to snipe him with a long ranged weapon can work if you work quickly. You will have batarangs available to you if you want to attempt that. Otherwise, we'll start. Same ninjas as before, but you'll know the boss when you see him."
As a quick demonstration, three black-clad ninjas suddenly jumped Batman at the command of a ninja in samurai armor in the distance. Batman reacted as you might expect. Batarang thrown at the samurai (which was cut out of the air with a katana), grapple line to one ninja, who was pulled in for an elbow strike, sidestep a katana slash into a roundhouse kick to the second, flip over the third, grabbing his head, and throwing him head-first into the ground over Batman's shoulder. Batman then charged the samurai, ducked a sword strike, and rose up into an uppercut.
That was a hint: the guy's face was vulnerable. Take notes.

Listen to the Lecture
Fight Ninjas with a Boss
Choose your opponent:
Beginner: White Ninja, hand to hand combat.
Intermediate: Gray Ninja, begins with nunchucks.
Expert: Black Ninja, begins with a katana blade.
Boss: Will be colored and armed the same as his ninjas, but he's also wearing samurai armor. Body parts exposed include the face, lower legs, hands, and joints.
The ninjas are fully moddable. Their weapons can be knocked/taken away if you're good enough. The goal is to find a group that gives you a good, intense workout. If you overshoot your abilities, you'll get your butt kicked and should step back. If you beat the ninjas easily, try again at a higher difficulty.

OOC, ensuring the safety of the world
In more accurate terms, a ninja is a bastard and a samurai has armor. At least that's how Batman was trained.
Please see Batman: The Animated Series: Night of the Ninja and Day of the Samurai for more distinctions, as well as the ultimate defense against the dreaded o-nemo-ri attack - the Touch of Death.
Seriously, Day of the Samurai features a kung fu fight between an unmasked Batman and the ninja on an erupting volcano. This retired the VERY IDEA of volcanoes erupting in the DCAU until Superman and Doomsday decided they needed to fight INSIDE one.
What I'm getting at is that volcano fights are badass.
