Literature- Wednesday- 2nd period
Good news, everybody! Your teacher was back to her natural hair color, which had to be a good oh wait, the desks had been cleared out except for a long table holding a lot of gold handheld bells? Yeah, okay, sorry, class was still gonna be weird.
"Good morning, everyone!" Jess said cheerily. "This week in Music Appreciation, we're going to continue last week's practice with the bells by actually playing Carol of the Bells. Which can be a tough song, but you all did so amazing last week, and I know you can exceed that this week. I believe in you!"

Well, whatever Abby ended up 'playing', while it technically did contain bells, that was where any and all resemblance to Carol of the Bells both began and ended.

Ostensibly.
Mostly, she was trying to estimate how much it weighed, how much the metal would be worth, and whether she could hide it somewhere without the rest of the class noticing, because it would be a bonus if she could annoy Éponine by pulling this little caper off successfully by herself.
It was a special kind of quasi-sibling rivalry in their matched set of AUs.
