"Okay, today I'm not going to be talking much," Kaidan said with a brief smile. "It's your turn to take the stage. Look at last week's exercise and present your findings to the class along with your partner."

He cleared his throat. "That'll be the end of introductions," he said. "Next week, we'll really get started."

Then he turned towards the holographic blackboard and wrote,

What do people in your galaxy already know about? What don't they? What's unexplored that shouldn't be?

Then he sat down.

Actually, Kaidan had a tendency towards heavy migraines due to the implant in his head, so...

"Commander Alenko," he corrected distractedly. "Yes, Cecil?"

I was telling him about how in Night Vale, sometimes we like to just go out and scream up at the void - you know, in terror of our own insignificance in the face of it all. And he was saying sometimes he did that on a spaceship, too, and I thought - that must be so wonderful and terrifying, screaming at the void and being surrounded by the void, and he said maybe we could have a field trip?"

Look at those big, pleading eyes and that huge smile. You wouldn't deny a guy the chance to scream in terror in the middle of space, would you, Commander?

There was something deeply wrong here, Cecil. Kaidan blinked. "We took a field trip to a space station last year," he said slowly. "But we haven't got anything set up this time around. I'll, uh. Think about it."
