History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | Feb 17, Periods 5&6

Autolycus did not look the least bit worried as he greeted the class. Nope. Quick drying paint and large sheets of fabric and cardboard were laid out in front of the class.

"It has been brought to my atention that you are having a fertility rite Valentine's Dance tonight, which is in need of decoration."

"For this reason and because I know what your StuCo President is capable of when she's in a mood, you're going to spend this class making those decorations."

"Your materials are set out, just remember to keep within the theme of love."

Painting wasn't Angel's forte but he could make red hearts with the best of them.

He looked mildly worried, but if so that was because he was thinking of the dance that night.

Okay and maybe because he was concerned about paint getting in his hair.

Isabel is painting hearts as well. She's strangely amused given how she plans on spending her time at the dance.

"Hey Angel, how was your Valentine's day?"

"Not bad, actually," Angel said. "Spent it with Callisto. You?"

"That's nice." Isabel smiled as she painted some more hearts. "I spent the evening in the common room with all the single people. We watched bad movies and ate junk food."

"Also nice," Angel said. "You going to the dance tonight?"

Zero started painting. Whatever she was doing seemed to involve a lot of black. Stupid Valentine's Day.

"I'll put in an appearance," she said. "Some of us single people plan on hanging out in a corner together."

"Is it a corner without dancing?" Angel asked. "I'm into that."

"I'm not sure," she answered. "But it's definitely going to be the corner with snark."

In between painting hearts, Isabel made a few posters that looked like some of the ones here (http://www.meish.org/vd/) and passed them over to Zero.

"What do you think? For the singles corner?"

"Definitely not dancing," Angel muttered to himself.

Angela can paint, kind of, as long as she's not trying to draw anything too complicated.

Right now, she's trying to make a poster featuring conversation hearts, and the lettering on the little hearts is very .... charming, if "charming" and "blobby and unreadable" mean the same thing.

Jack's not in love.

He does, however, get regular sex so he's okay with that.

With limited talent but great imagination, he starts painting abstract figures of people engaged in... engaged.

If you squint, you can read the number 69 a few times.

"You don't dance?" Isabel asked. "Not even the slow ones?"
