Hannibal nodded to his students when they'd all arrived. "Today is our last class. It is generally traditional to have some sort of a final exam, but as you may have noted on the syllabus, you are not having one."

He smiled. "It is said that a good teacher learns as much from his students as they from him, so I think a more fitting gauge of my teaching ability is for the final exam to be mine." He waved at the food on the table. "Today's food, you may thank your classmates for. Those of you who showed me how to create your foods, I hope I have done well enough by them. Those of you who elected to write an essay," he sighed, "well, I return them to you, printed on edible paper.

"For today's discussion, I should like for you to each tell me one thing you have learned from this class, and one way in which it may inform your future eating."

"Also, I should like to invite you all to a post-semester dinner at the Arms Hotel one week from Saturday. There will be no tests or requirements; it's simply my way of saying thank you for allowing me to instruct you."

You couldn't very well teach somebody how to make scream cheese if they didn't have a screaming cow. (Especially if you were Mavis and didn't know much more about how scream cheese was made than the fact that it came from a screaming cow.)

So instead, Mavis just brought in bagels from Jeff, God of Biscuits, and a great big tub of Screaming Cow Scream Cheese.

As disappointed as Hannibal had been at not being able to learn to cook anything of Mavis', he had to admit he had no idea how one might make this. And the taste was good, once he got it to stop squirming long enough to take a bite.

"Is all your food this loud?" he asked Mavis with a wince after it managed to scream in his ear.

[OOC: OMG, that gif is hypnotic. I can't stop staring at the screaming scream cheese!]

"Oh, no." Mavis shook her head. "I mean, there's eye scream and shrieking eels, but most things are pretty quiet. Unless you crunch bones with your mouth open, but that's just rude."

"It is," Hannibal agreed. "What sorts of bones do you eat?"

"The lazy ones, because they're too slow to get away!"

Mavis might not have been entirely serious there. Possibly.

And Hannibal had rather walked into that.

He gave Mavis a look that was two parts pained and three parts approving, as befitted a pun of that caliber. "I feel I might have a bone to pick with that statement," he informed her gravely.

"Only if you get to it before me," Mavis pointed out with a grin.

"True. And it would be a rather unfair race," Hannibal pointed out with a smile.
