As the students entered the classroom, they would find circular tables piled high with an assortment of baked goods and beverages.

"Good afternoon!" Thor greeted everyone enthusiastically once they'd found their seats. These days, Thor spent a lot of time in Midgardian clothing, he'd donned the armour, cape and all. "Throughout the next several weeks, we will be exploring various aspects of Midgardian culture." And by 'aspects' he meant food. "As is customary during the first week, we shall take today to perform introductions. So, names! And if you could also speak of a favourite dish from your own culture."

A beat. "I suppose I should start. I am Thor, and I will be your instructor, of course. You needn't bother with a title, just Thor is fine," he grinned. "And my favourite meal is the roast Sæhrímnir, a type of boar served in Asgard." He pointed to someone at random. "You, go ahead."

Upon the completion of introductions, Thor motioned in Darcy's direction. "Darcy Lewis, you are hereby appointed as my teaching assistant. There is one other TA position, and should any of you be interested, please come speak to me."

"Theo Langstrom," he said, taking his cue from Thor's enthusiastic greeting. "And my favorite food is...does Hot Pockets count? I mean, there's all kinds of flavors so whatever my mood, I can find something I like."

They were also incredibly bad for him and cheap but he tended to live off them with his parents gone most of the time.

Minako Aino

"Ohaiyo!" Minako cheered, popping out of her seat to do a little bow. "My name is Aino Minako - but you can call me Minako! - and I love to eat stuffed dumplings and oolong tea!"

Paddra Nsu-Yeul

"Hello," Yeul said, when it was her turn, giving a little wave. "I am Paddra Nsu-Yeul. Yeul is my first name. And... I do not have a favorite food. I like many kinds of foods and enjoy trying new ones."

Sholeh Zeela a Zhahar

After all the running that Zeela had done in class today, Sholeh was starving by the time she got to Thor's class. So her disappointment that this class wasn't going to cover more culture than simply food was mitigated by the fact that there was food and lots of it available.

"Hi, I'm Sholeh Zeela a Zhahar," she said with a little wave. "My favorite food is actually flapjacks in the morning. They're sweet and filling and are usually saved for special occasions."

Loki Laufeyson

Snow White

"Hello, brother," Loki said cheerfully. "For those in the class who do not know who I am, my name is Loki. And I rather enjoy milkshakes and cheeseburgers."

Snow was just going to sit and stare at Thor for a moment, wondering how he'd followed her to this world.

Cassidy

Billy Kaplan

"Billy Kaplan," he said, trying not to vibrate with glee at getting another class with Thor, "and my favorite food is probably pepperoni pizza."

Thor was more brawn than brain, it was true. Still, he was not without some skill at observation.

And so when he noticed the girl staring at him, he raised an eyebrow and gave her what he hoped was a reassuring smile. "Is something troubling you?"

"Hello," Cassidy said cheerfully. "My favorite dish from home is the same as mine here, hot chocolate."

Alex Aaron

"I'm Alex Aaron and...I like Pop-Tarts." What? They were a food of his culture.

"How did you follow me here?" Snow demanded. He'd let her run from the Queen's men, but she didn't think she could trust him.

Darcy Lewis

"I'm afraid you are mistaken," Thor said apologetically. "I have never met you before."

"But you look just like him!" Snow insisted. "Are you telling me you're not the huntsman the queen sent to catch me?"
