Today, the students had two separate sets of ingredients already set out for them.

"Good afternoon, class," Bond greeted them. "We're still in the realm of baking this week, but we'll be doing something that requires some multitasking this week,and instead of sweet, we'll be making something savoury. Something which everyone should make from scratch at least once, even if they order it every other time, pizza. Which for those of you who aren't from here or any other place where it's a popular dish, is a round flatbread topped with a tomato sauce and other ingredients, usually cheese, along with meats and vegetables, though usually it's better not to overload on toppings."

"Any any case, today we'll be making dough and sauce from scratch, then while those are resting and cooking respectively, you'll prep your chosen toppings so everything will be ready construct the actual pizza to go in the oven at the same time. You have enough ingredients to make three pizzas each so feel free to experiment a bit with those."

"Now, if you'll just watch me, let's begin."

Wondering if you can just order in.

The answer to the question in the sign-in thread, is no, no you can't.

Bond led the students through mixing and kneading their dough, reminding them to make sure their hands were well floured before they started kneading.

Once everyone's dough was safely tucked away in a draught-free place to rise, Bond got them started on their sauce.

It's time to choose and prep the toppings for your pizza (while keeping an eye on your sauce to make sure it doesn't burn).

There's a good range to choose from too, a couple of (proper) cheeses, fresh mozzarella, blocks of cheddar and Parmesan, both fresh and marinated vegetables, all kinds of smoked meats, fresh herbs, and even pineapple and anchovy fillets.

Given that there's a lot of ingredients that more than one person might want to try, it might be time for a bit of teamwork.

Your dough is risen, your sauce is cooked (and Bond has extra of both if you've suffered unfortunate mishaps along the way), and everyone has all the toppings they could want prepped.

It's time to make your pizzas and get them into the oven.

There's plates if you want to try some your freshly cooked pizzas now, and boxes for what you want to take and have later. We all know pizza tastes best the next day anyway.

Or just admire the way he looks with his sleeves rolled up and covered in flour.

This would be so much easier to do if Jim was allowed to use his phone and just dial in. So much easier.

He sighed.

Jim floured his hands up and started kneading the dough. This wasn't so bad but he knew the next few steps would probably be where he ruined it.

But hey, he could knead the dough! It was almost like a massage.

Sholeh Zeela a Zhahar

*Ooooooh,* Zhahar said, listening along with Sholeh. *This is something we can bring home and make, too! I'm so glad you agreed to this class!*

Sholeh was in it for the learning. Zhahar was in it for new recipes she could try out.

...Zeela had agreed to it so she could eat whatever they made. It was a good system and it worked for them.

Jim...might have lost focus for a second and added a little bit too much garlic to the sauce. Oh well, he didn't notice and he'd just try and foist the pizza on someone else once he figured it out.

With an eye on his garlicky sauce, Jim went for cheese, sausage and some mushrooms for his toppings. It was simple, it wasn't fruit and he couldn't mess it up too badly.

*Definitely cheese,* Zhahar instructed in Sholeh's head. *And the marinated onions. Ooh, and some mushrooms, too! Ummm, ooh, yes, the rosemary will give it a nice, savory flavor...*

=I want the little fishies on mine,= Zeela informed her. =Mostly so I don't have to share. And the red peppers.=

Sholeh was glad that Professor Bond had said they were to make three pizzas each. This way, none of the sisters had to share.

Well, nothing had burned but the sauce was still reeking of garlic. But, everything else was good!

That was...good enough, right? He put the pizza in the oven to cook it up.

Yeah, Jim took one bite of his pizza and nearly choked. Too much garlic. Right. That was great.

He was just gonna...put the rest in a box and maybe give it to Jackson.

Sometimes Richie didn't pay enough attention. Sometimes this resulted in Richie's hands being covered in little sticky bits of dough. It worked out eventually though.

Richie's pizza was going to be covered in meat. All the meat. Except the anchovies because that was just gross.

Rilla Blythe

Rilla had made enough bread to be completely at home making the pizza dough. She was humming under her breath as she did so--smacking dough around was therapeutic.

Rilla's tomato sauce had too many dried herbs (she'd put in a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon) and had come dangerously close to scorching on the bottom, but was still edible!

Rilla was a little overwhelmed by the choices, so she was trying some of the toppings to see what she liked.

She ended up picking just the mozzarella because she was boring.

Rilla put cheese, then sauce, then more cheese on her pizza and sprinkled the crust with more dried herbs.

She'd regret that when they all burned.
