Today Oz's class would find them situated on a wide, grassy, open plain. Of course the grass was purple, but who was quibbling over little details like that, especially when looking at the wagons they'd noticed that something very important was missing, namely the oxen.

"Good afternoon, kids," Oz greeted them, coiling rope into loops as he spoke. "During the night your oxen ran away, turns out someone didn't secure them properly, but who's to blame isn't important right now, what's important is that even if you abandon the wagon and go on foot, you won't be able to carry enough supplies be able to reach the next settlement before you die of starvation." Now there was a cheery thought. "So you're going to need to find some way to get this wagon moving again. The good news is this plain happens to be home to just the animal you need."

It was then that something ran past the wagon. Something silvery. Something with a rainbow mane. Something with a horn.

"Bad news is you're going to have to catch them first." Oz tossed the coiled rope to the nearest student. "Good luck with that."

Wonder what's up with the grass, try to figure out who let the oxen go...omgwtf robot unicorns?

You have rope, opposable thumbs and the ability to work as a team. Clearly it will be easy to capture and harness enough unicorns to get the wagon moving again.
