Heroes and Villains 101, Tuesday, Period 3

When the students filed into the Danger Shop today, they'd probably be able to tell that this wasn't exactly a scenario that left much wiggle-room when it came to uncovering your Inner Hero. Or... whatever you had on the inside. Kotetsu wasn't here to judge, he was just here to make you figure out what side of the fence you landed on.

So that's why, when you stepped into the room to see that it was set up with a big fancy backdrop, an assortment of costumes and props, and photography equipment, he expected you to deal with it like the big boys and girls that you were.

"So, as you've all probably figured out, where I come from being a hero isn't just a lifestyle choice or a moral decision, it's a career choice," Kotetsu said, arms crossed over his chest and a little grin on his face. "Like I said way back in our second session together, being a hero doesn't pay for itself. Unless you were born into wealth, you have to work hard to be able to keep wearing your costume, if you want to be able to feed yourself and keep a roof over your head. And that's where this stuff comes in."

He nodded over his shoulder, at the camera setup. Prof Tomoe was looking over the tech, making sure that everything was set up correctly. He’d whipped up a hybrid photo equipment/platypus/human monster especially for this class, with expensive-looking cameras growing from the ends of her green furry arms where her hands should have been.

“Pay no attention to the platparazzi monster behind the camera,” he said cheerfully, before directing the class’ attention back to Kotetsu.

"Promotional material,” Kotetsu said. “Pretty straightforward, isn't it? Make yourself look good, and maybe you'll get enough sponsorships to be able to afford saving lives again tomorrow. Come up with a catchy slogan, and you've got double the chances! Mine is, It's time to let out a wild roar!"

A pause, then, while he struck a pose. The camera daimon leapt in to take a flurry of photos, which spat out of the printer in her midsection..

"Catchy, isn't it?” Kotetsu said. “Your turn, kids. Suit up, and come up with a name and a catch phrase. We're putting your faces on collectible cards!"

And there would even be Wild Tiger cards to take with you on your way out of the room! They were collectors' items!

Lex was used to being photographed, if not by a platparazzi.

His costume looked remarkably similar to his everyday clothes and his pose was fierce.

Angelica already had a costume and a superhero name, but she was having trouble with a motto. She'd happily take any suggestions.

Time to heat things up?

Victor wished Molly were with him. Her ideas might be bad, but at least she had a lot of them.

In the end, he went with basic navy spandex with orange accents for the costume, and used Electroclash's suggestion for a name: Firewall.

His pose, at least, was electrifying.

Prof Tomoe was in a good mood today. Creating horrible soul-stealing monsters always made him feel happier.

It's a little hard to be photogenic when you keep your face cloaked in shadows most of the time.

If I see any Kotetsu zipper pulls at the anime con this weekend, I will totally buy one and mail it to you.

D'aww, thank you! This one came in a blind box, so there's still a chance that I can find another one provided my comic shop gets them in...

But if you do find one, I'd happily send you one of my multitude of other characters, in turn. Except I don't have Keith yet, or he'd already be in the mail headed your way. Sadface. :(
