Introduction to Robotics, Friday

Kaidan wasn't feeling completely like himself today.

Or maybe it was that the island didn't feel like itself. There was something in the air, a tense note that reminded him strangely and painfully of Shepard and the last days of the struggle with Saren.

He wasn't able to concentrate.

And that bothered him-- he didn't like feeling out of control, and he didn't like not having his focus which kept that control.

"You'll be watching a movie today," he started. "I'm... sorry about this, but the lesson plan's out the window for now. Thanks."

He switched on the film and sat down.

He was here, yes, and kind of glad to have some time to not think about all the weirdness that had been going on on the island lately. The movie was a nice distraction from that.

Topher didn't require his distractions to be cheerful or anything, see.

The movie was boring. Victor gave up on it a few minutes in and pulled out a notebook, sketching a map of the route he planned to follow during his patrol. He wanted a path that would cover the most ground with the fewest inefficiencies.

Anakin tuned out the movie almost immediately, and turned his attention back to the program he was working out on his datapad. He lived in a constant state of on-the-edge these days, but today felt like a magnified version of that, and it was all he could do to keep from bouncing one knee up and down restlessly.
