There is a distinct lack of Twinkies at the front of the classroom today. Instead, there are Twinkies strategically placed around the room in areas that are open, visible and would be easy to expose a would be Twinkie thief.

"Professor Ted's still out and we're still talking about music of the Uncharted Territories today. It's almost had to have discussion on this type of music since we really don't know what's out there and what different sounds we might hear. It could be the same, it could be different, it could be damaging to our ears, it could be beyond our comprehension, and it could really stink."

Today's Assignment: Keeping with our last assignment about describing ourselves to natives who don't know us or our music, today's assignment is to tell the class what musicians or pieces of music do you think natives that have never been exposed to your music before would react best towards? What about the musicians or pieces of music that would garner the most negative reactions?"

"Also, if you haven't already, please turn in your homework from last class period."

"And if any of you happen to see the Twinkie stealer, let me know."

Sam doodles a picture of a quantum accelerator.

Really it just looks like a ball that's glowing.

"Elvis Costello as his music best displays the characteristics of the human condition," Sam says. Normally he would point at something more classical, but he didn't want to attract any more attention.

"As for music that would garner the most negative reactions, I would have to say anything of the Teeny-Bop Boy/Girl Band genre."

"Elvis Presley, everyone likes Elvis! And plus, he's got all sorts of sounds, from Rock to R&B, he's an all around good guy." he thinks about the second question, "Erm, probably some death metal or something. The stuff Ted plays? Yeah, that would scare the crap out of anyone that hasn't heard it before."

"Everybody loved the Beatles, right? So I guess that would get the best reactions. I would play, um, "In My Life" or "Hey Jude," Angela said thoughtfully. "For the worst reaction ... I dunno, I used to work in a record store and people always said they liked all music "except rap or country." So, either really fast gangsta rap, or really twangy country would probably annoy the most people."

"I have to agree with Angela," Izzie commented. After considering for a moment more, she added, "Especially the fast gangsta rap. Other cultures might take the tone of it as aggressive, and that would just start all sorts of problems."

"That's another thing," Angela agreed. "I mean, there are people in America who are really offended by what they see as violence and sexism in a lot of rap. So I can't imagine it would go over well with someone from another culture."

"Not everyone likes the Beatles. Professor Skeeter went downright weird on me when I asked her if the Beatles were more her style," Cameron said.

"Really? Isn't she, like, old and English?" Angela shrugged. "Maybe she liked the Rolling Stones instead."

"I think some instrumental stuff might work well. Lyrics might get in the way or be kind of off-putting, so stuff without any words might be best. Maybe even classical stuff."
