Art Therapy! Friday, P2 [Week 7]

Today the class would find they had been directed to the Danger Shop for their final. It was much, much easier for this, Angela had decided.

It was laid out simply, with a large white wall taking up most of the space, and art supplies taking up the rest.

“I’m not going to try and give you all a real final, because this is summer camp and that seems a little wrong.” Also she honestly didn’t want to have to try and mark people on a class with ‘therapy’ in the title. More wrong, somehow. “So call this a group project.”

Angela leaned patted the wall a couple of times. “I want this all filled up by the end of class, with whatever calls you. Consider yourselves the next Banksy.”

This suited Karolina.

After a moment to think, she decided to conquer a part of the wall for flowers. All kinds of flowers, in different shapes and sizes and all the colors of the rainbow.

Angelica was merrily painting the wall, but she didn't mind stopping to talk.

Ace was just a few years too young, or a few years too old, to know anything about Banksy yet, but graffiti itself? That, she was intimately familiar with.

Which is not to say she was especially good at it, which was a polite way of saying she couldn't draw to save her life, and she knew it. Instead, she went with trying to recreate the log on the back of her jacket, in scarlet and yellow spray paint, three times as big as her head.

Something was missing, though. Probably the chance of getting caught and dragged off by her ear.

Cassie grabbed a few brushes and some paint and started trying to paint a seascape on the wall.

Bucky was pretty messed up from spending the last week and a half as a carbon molecule (http://monkeymonkeydie.livejournal.com/1601.html), so he wasn't his normal surly self.

Although you might find a stoned-out-of-his-gourd Bucky even more annoying.

He grabbed a can of spray paint in each paw and began running around the room, whooping wildly and spraying things at random. The floor, the art supplies, the air, the people... Sure, some of it got on the wall where it belonged, but that was mostly by chance.

Hanna really wasn't much of an artist, so she didn't attempt to recreate scenes or draw anything that resembled real objects. Instead, she sprayed random colors onto the wall that formed kaleidoscope like shapes.

It didn't represent anything in particular, but she was having fun with it.

Juliet started with an exuberant signature, Juliet Darling was here! in red cursive spray paint at one side of the wall.

Once that was done, she was likely going to start putting stars around it. Graffiti art was totally wet.

Goose wasn't making a particular type of pattern, instead he was just spraying random colours onto the wall and seeing what results he could get.
