The Doctor does have a case of the Mondays ~~as does the mun zomg~~. A bad one. He leans on the podium and looks...tired.

"Right. So. Your things. Or, if we're going to be all academic about it, your 'cultural artifacts'. They should be related to your chosen area of study, but still be interesting. I want you to stand up and talk about it for a bit. Tell me why it's important, how it's involved with your choice, and why you particularly chose this artifact among others. Okay? Impromptu presentations in high school are nothing compared to time travel, so if you can't master this, there's no hope for you." He sounds like he's kidding during that last bit.

"Jack, if you brought LSD, I don't want to know where you got it ~~certainly not from that room in the TARDIS~~, and you need to put it in your pocket and burn it later. Wednesday we'll be talking about some more scientific ends to this project."

Sam signed in.

Sam brought a copy of The Warren Commission Report on the Kennedy Assassination, a copy of 'JFK', which she slipped into the recorder to show scene about the Zapruder film, and a large piece of oak tag, covered with a cross-section of two human torsos and a bunch of black arrows. She also handed out several photocopied passages.

"This is a copy of the official report of the assassination. Please note the marked passages, describing how the bullets had to come from a lone gunman..." She went on to explain, in excruciating detail, exactly why the "single bullet theory" had no basis in ballistics or physics, based on the visual evidence she gleaned from the Zapruder film.

There was also a brief ~~rant~~ lecture about how the eyewitness testimony matched everything but the official explanation.

John signs in.

"Since I last talked about the energy crisis of 1973, I brought in a a photo (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8228/350pxenergycrisisoildsoldout4v.jpg) that was a typical representation of what people saw during the energy crisis. Gas stations out of fuel, gas being rationed and gas gouging in other places. I also brought in an old Time magazine (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/6713/11017312034004ep.jpg) that was issued in December of 1973 and cartoonishly showcases the energy crisis."

Jack signs in, sniffling into a kleenex.

Jack presents a picture of a "free store (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_store)" (~~which I have a picture in my mind and yet could not find online~~) and talks about how the drug culture often, either by accident or design, subverted authority systems. He then sings "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7258896287489458266)", just because. Unfortunately, his cold makes him sound a bit froggy.

And I torture your dorkiness with William Shatner. Bwa!

"Very good, Sam. Above and beyond the call of duty. Have you ever thought of going into criminal forensics?"

"Good. What do you think would happen if such a crisis occurred today--or had continued to this point in time?"

The Doctor stares at him for a bit during the second part, agape. "Er...good. Did you get that cold looked at, Jack?"

He suspects this is an unforgettable moment.

Sam laughed. "No, I hadn't. I'll definitely keep it in mind, though."
