Christopher Columbus was the person who, while he didn't actually discover the American continent, was the person who gave it the big publicity so that the rest of the world actually cared about it and payed attention to its existence. 2. John Smith was, in the words of the teacher, fearless, reckless, and a jackass. However, he was especially important to the survival of Jamestown. 3. Varying degrees of ugh was really the contrast between Virginia and Massachussets. One had diseases, one had mean people and deathly cold. Not fun for anyone. 4. Vermont. 5. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
