Journalism 101/201 (Friday, January 27 - 7th period)

“Good afternoon, boys and girls.”

“Today we’re going to talk about wording. How does one word things in a newspaper article as opposed to, say, poetry?”

Rita smiled. “Your assignment is to write me a poem on something you find beautiful. No, you don’t have to name the subject. Just...something or someone beautiful.”

“Next week we’ll follow up this assignment, and it’ll make infinitely more sense to your little brains. Questions?”

Peter wasn't very good with poetry. He also wasn't really in the right frame of mind recently for talking about things that are beautiful. He was, however, feeling a bit silly.

There once was a man from Nantucket
Who painted a beautiful bucket
The colors were bright
The hues were just right
And he sold it for only a ducat

Peter thought long and hard about the assignment and decided that he would worry about it later.
