Professor Chaucer's Office Hours, Monday

Professor Chaucer is in his office, reading. He isn't reading Symposium however, as he's sneakily managed to foist that lesson off on Professor Cregg instead.

You don't have to bring coffee, but he'll be really happy if you do.

Bel knocked on Professor Chaucer's door. "Professor Chaucer? I have a doctor's note for Phoebe Halliwell," he said. "She's going to miss a few classes this week and she has you for Poetry, right?"

Looking up from his book, Geoff waves Bel into the office. "Phoebe's ill? I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, she's in my poetry class, and she has an independent study with me as well. Tell her we can reschedule our discussion if she's still under the weather tomorrow."

He takes the note and cocks his head at Bel. "I don't think we've met, have we? Unless we have, in which case kindly forgive the mun's swiss cheese-like brain."

"No, I don't think so," Bel answered. "I've never taken one of the writing courses or literature or anything."

"Well, it's good to meet you then. Geoff Chaucer." He grins and holds out his hand. "I'm guessing, since you're delivering the message, that you're a friend of Phoebe's. Tell her I hope she's feeling better soon, and to just give me a call when she wants to reschedule."

"Belthazor," Bel said, shaking Geoff's hand. "Phoebe's my girlfriend. I'll pass your message on to her. Thanks for being so cool about it."

"Belthazor," Geoff repeated, with a slight quirk of an eyebrow at the unusual name. "You're very welcome. I want my students to come to class because they look forward to it, not because they're afraid to miss it. If Phoebe's sick, then of course she needs to stay in the dorms and rest. I know she'll make up the work."

"Now, I'll let you get back to fussing over her, as a good boyfriend should. Tell her I said to take things easy and not to worry about the classes."
