Quantum Physics 123: The Doctor's Office Door

Though he's still in Richmond (and has now slept in a chair three nights running, which is not good for his back), you may slide your projects under the Doctor's door. He'll be back tomorrow to get them and do the fastest grading known to man.

The report comes to the conclusion that having two of the same person in one universe when the universe has not accounted for that type of abnormality could potentially be catastrophic due to the balance being distorted.

Jessica slides her project under the door. It is thoughtful and articulate, dealing generally with prophecies in various universes and their effect on the timeline of any given world. In her paper, she has come to the conclusion that just about the fastest way to cause something to happen is a prophecy.

Cally presents a heavily notated and researched paper on the Predestination Paradox, which includes some material by Doctor Samuel Beckett, some by a Doctor Elizabeth Shaw, and various other sources.

She has come to the conclusion that the Predestination Paradox is the most sane and sensible Quantum Physics theory. Because she likes the idea of time fitting together like cogs in a machine, or pieces of a puzzle. She makes a few leaps of faith, but there is some solid supporting evidence as well as a few creatively interpreted quotes from her reasarch.

A decent paper, all-in-all.

Subject: How much Jack could have screwed up various timelines by telling his future/alternate/future-alternate self about his death.

Quality: Middling. Between amnesia (when he didn't even touch the project because I was so not playing him finding out AGAIN about the die-a-hero bit) and CJ's accident, it's not as good as it could be. But it makes the point, and makes it clear Jack has a much better grasp of cause-and-effect and the ramifications of time travel than before.
