Welcome to your final project. Weep and lament now, and get it over with.

Ok, I'm announcing this today so you have plenty of time to craft a good message to send. You will be making a request of a trusted autority figure. Principal Bristow and our mayor, Red, have both agreed to be your audience. Please choose who you would prefer to address, what your request will be, and how you will present it in order to gain the desired reciprocity. Use all the skills you've learned this quarter...you're going to need them.

In theory, there are 12 of you. No more than 6 people per. We don't want to overwhelm these guys when they are so kindly volunteering their time. The Principal can see his people next Friday. You will need to contact Janine and make an appointment. Those of you who prefer Red, also, set up time with him, don't just drop in. This will give you a good in for what you're asking for, right?

*DEATH sits in the corner with a small sign, radiating dread. His sign reads, "FREEDOM OF A NON-GLANDULAR NATURE!". While CJ cannot see the student, she can certainly see the sign.*

Come to class, still a little weak from the last echoes of the flu, but is not feverish and therefore won't infect anyone. He gives his speech a little weakly.

Jack starts jotting notes about what he could ask Red or Bristow.

[She looks at his notes] Start with your goal, Chip. What do you want, then how will you get it?

I can't think of anything I really want, either in the school or in town. Beer Wednesdays? Naked Fridays?

[Arching her eyebrow] Chip, let's be realistic, ok? I mean, unless you really want to go ask the principal for naked Fridays. Keep in mind your audience.

Elizabeth sat there, thinking, tapping her pen on her notebook.

[Jack imagines Bristow naked, and shudders.] Okay, okay. Excellent point.

What do you think, E? Would you rather appeal to Red or Bristow?

[She smiles, also imagining Bristow naked] Of course it's an excellent point. So, what do you think?

I think I'd rather appeal to Principal Bristow. After all, he's in charge of the school, which has the most effect on me.

Good call. Ok...what do you want?

A trained school counsellor might be nice. I raised the point in StuCo earlier this week, but another appeal wouldn't hurt.

D'anna gives a speech that's C or B work, depending on the kindness of the instructor. It's on topic but uninspired.

D'anna sips at her cocoa and begins doodling some ideas down. Ok so she's really just drawing a sad would be cartoon of Red in hopes an idea will come to her, but she'll get the questions... eventually.

That's a very good idea. Someone availible for the students and staff. [she nods] Yeah...run with that.

Cute D'anna...you chose Red then?

Shep starts by holding up a picture of a beagle. "This is Pathos..."

He stops and grins at C.J. "Just kidding."

He then proceeds to give his real speech. A story of a little girl who was born into a species that ate humans, but in a freak accident was orphaned and raised by humans. She ended up hating what her biology demanded of her, and took great pains to not give in to her hunger, but ultimately had to feed periodically. In her efforts to become human, she took a major risk, but it didn't work and she had to be killed, much to the sadness of the humans who knew her.

"Yes, Miss." D'anna looked up from the horrible sketch. "I met him on one of my journalism field trips and I owe him and the cubs a visit. He seems... more approachable? I guess? Than the ~~Spoon Ninja~~ Dean. I mean the Principal."

*Elizabeth nods, and starts to scribble down things in her notebook*

Red is wonderful. Very approachable. But what might you ask the mayor of our town? What could he do for you, D'anna?

I think asking Red would be best for me, seeing as how he can't expell me or give me detention. I'm just not sure what to ask, all in all I'm pretty much peachy with things here. Any ideas?

Pathos is not Parker's strong point.

She gives a calm, clear speech on friendship, and how true friends are the ones who will help you burn and bury the bodies of those who mess with you, and then never, ever tell anyone about it, or say another word to you about it. They just get drunk with you afterward.

[Chiana comes in and starts adding a few things to her proposal to talk to Red.]

Veronica starts brainstorming some ideas of things she can ask Principal Bristow for.

Allie has no idea what to ask either authority figure for... but she decides she'll go with asking the Mayor. Principal Bristow scares her.

Piper starts thinking about what to ask Principal Bristow.

Since she's on the student council and already sort of knows him, Anya decides she'll make an appointment with Bristow.

Emotional appeals are not Lindsey's strong point. But he gives a sort of decent speech anyway.

Lindsey sighs, very quietly. He doesn't spend much time in town, so he'll try and brave Bristow and hopefully live to tell the tale. Hopefully. But he has no idea what to ask for.
