For all new students interested in language classes
If you wish to add a language class, please sign up here. They are:
8:00 - 9:30 MWF Classics. Latin, Greek, Biblical Hebrew. Will also discuss ancient Egyptian, Sumerian, Etruscan.
10:00 - 11:30 MWF Indo-European and the development of language. Recommended to take in conjunction with any other language group in order to understand history and relations between languages. Will also cover Esperanto and history of invented languages.
11:30 - 1:00 MWF Office hours.
1:00 - 2:00 MWF Open lab. Tutoring sessions, discussion of languages not covered in regular classtime, cultural studies and events.
2:30 - 4:00 MWF Languages of Asia. Japanese, Chinese, Korean. Will include discussion of other languages of the Pacific Rim.
8:00 - 10:00 TTh. Cat. Lab time included. Will be mostly practicum. Will also discuss languages of the animal kingdom and understanding non-verbal language.
10:00 - 1:00 TTh. Open lab. Tutoring sessions, discussion of languages not covered in regular classtime, cultural studies and events.
1:00 - 3:00 TTh. Languages of Europe. French, German, Spanish. Will include discussion of other European languages in conjunction with their closely related languages (Dutch with German, Italian with Spanish, etc.)
3:00 - 4:00 TTh. History of English.
