Speech Comm

Five minutes late to class, she charges in the classroom. Her posture is frighteningly erect. Her eyes flash with anger. Her jaw is clenched, and her knuckles are white where she is clenching her attache handle. She slams the case down on her desk and levels a killing glrae at each and every student in turn..

She then turns to the board and writes, in silence,

WHAT HAVE I COMMUNICATED WITH ONLY MY BODY LANGUAGE?

She sits on the edge of her desk and awaits discussion.

"Professor, did we do something wrong?" Rory asks hesitantly. "I mean...I'm sorry if we did. I haven't even been here, and I'm sorry, actually."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pretty sure he knows what's going on, Jack bites his lip and says nothing. But anyone reading his body language would note that he is quite relaxed.]

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Rory arches a brow in return. "So, your body language was telling me that you're discontent over something, which is why I sprang to asking what was wrong. But now you're indicating a kind of cool apathy. So...I'm hoping you're just acting, because otherwise this could have scary results."

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Rory shrinks down in her seat, looking slightly frightened.

"That you're angry and want all of us to die horrible painful deaths, possibly at your hands?"

"Your body language seems to indicate anger," Piper said cautiously.

[Jack raises his hand, and waits patiently to be called on.]

[identity profile] wannabelawyer.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Lindsey grins. "And now you think I'm amusing, so possibly I'll be spared death this time."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[In a cool, clinical tone:] You appear to be toweringly furious, and yet very controlled about it. Since we as a class have had occasion to see you this furious before, the body language is easy to recognize. However...

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
However, you're usually very verbally communicative, and you aren't now. More to the point, you usually are very, very clear about exactly *what* you're angry about. So, from all of that, I'd guess that you're showing us how body language can be controlled and used to mislead. You're lying to us.

"I could always be wrong about that last part..."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jack takes the paper, reads the note written on the outside, nods, and rises and leaves the room.]

[[He goes to his next class and hands it to Ten (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/393268.html?thread=18472756#t18472756). Unopened, mind.]]

Anya sits down, watches the professor, then shoots her hand into the air.

"You've communicated that you're ticked off, Miss."

[identity profile] 2ls-in-oneill.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You body language clearly states that you are in a bad mood and that you will be holding absolutely no tollerance whatsoever for any kind of stupidity and/or mischeif today.

Please don't kill me!

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
That you can be a very scary woman?

[identity profile] 2ls-in-oneill.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Uhm? Well... I don't feel like I've been beaten half-to-death with a sick llama anymore, so I think I'm doing a little better. And hey? Back in class so that must mean something.

What about you? Feeling Peachy-Keen and sadistic or "Back away and leave chocolate?" Because I do have chocolate. And if it'll save my life and...countless others I guess I'm willing to sacrifice it. For a good cause and all.

[As soon as the Mun read "feeling better?" the Mun promptly sneezed on the computer. The Mun's immune system likes irony.]

*Elizabeth's face is equally as innocent*

*She then grins*

You appear to be displaying irritation. The sort where hitting something seems like a great idea.

[identity profile] 2ls-in-oneill.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
*Jack roots through his messenger bag and pulls out a box of chocolates (http://www.winecountrygiftbaskets.com/ghirardelli/cgi-bin/sgin0501.exe/FNM/00/T1/276069/UID/2005112817144262/UREQA/1/UREQB/2/UREQC/3/UREQD/4) and offers some to CJ*

"And that is one of the universal signals for exasperation and annoyance. Which means I'm going to shut up right about now."

Veronica tries not to laugh at Piper's comment. It's the understatement of the week.

[identity profile] allie-cameron.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Allie sits and watches the interactions with great interest.

[identity profile] not-an-ex-demon.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Anya hears Jack's voice and is immediately disappointed he didn't die.

"Was it that man, the doctor?" she asks, knowing she's right.

"Men seem to have that kind of effect on women, I've personally seen it thousands of times." she finishes matter of factly.

*Jack smiles back*
