[The Doctor looks slightly on edge today. When the students arrive, he is pacing back and forth in front of the classroom.]

Because of the short week, I'm going to do something incredibly stupid today. Each of you can ask me two questions. One must be about something to do with this class. The other can be anything you want. I'll tell you about myself, but I refuse to grant you information that isn't public knowledge about anyone else. Understood?

Oh. And if you didn't come to my office hours Friday to discuss your final projects--thank you to Jack, Ms Belmont, and Lady Jessica for doing so, Sam's excused--I expect an email tonight telling me why not.

[Jack bites his lip in an attempt not to laugh. He'll ask his questions after a few people have already softened up questioned the Doctor.]

Cally literally headdesks at forgetting about the final project discussion.

When it comes time for her to ask her questions, she puts on her best 'I'm a good student' face.

"First, in relation to the class, I was wondering if you have had personal experience with the predestination paradox?"

She mills over the second question for a moment.

"You mentioned you looked a bit different, back when you wore the scarf... do you have pictures that you can share with the class?" She giggles a little.

Thinking of the unexpected visitor that had showed up at his door on Friday, John hopes the Doctor will accept that as a reason.

"First question, with all the talk of time travel, you haven't really given your opinion, sir. Is there a list of do's and do not's you'd recommend for people thinking of travelling time?"

"And for the second question, "Have you ever been in a room with another doctor and someone calls out "Doctor!' and you both turn around?"

[The Doctor probably would. As for the questions, he pauses and thinks for a moment.]
My opinion...is to be careful. Be educated about the period and place to which you plan to travel. If that's not possible, keep your eyes and ears open. Remember that saving people is best left to professionals, and you're a long way from that.

As for the second...[he grins] Aye, it's happened, and more than once.

[The Doctor explains the answer that Squish and Rhi already discussed OOG to the first, and pauses at the second. He winces, though not painfully.]

Do I have any pictures? Yes. Do I have them ON me? No, definitely not.

"Could you bring them to the next class?" she asks with a grin.

That would be another question, Ms Cally. [He smirks a little at her.]

[A slow smile.] Are you sure you want to use that as your question, Jack?

Still feeling the effects of her hangover, Sam decided to ask a couple of softball questions.

"First, what do you feel is the most intriguing area of quantum theory for future study? And second, why did you choose to show up here and now?"

"What is the one 'don't go there' place or time for travelers in general? And what is your own personal choice for place or time to avoid?"

[Considers.] Yeah, I am. My personal question, that is. I reserve the right to ask the time travel question later.

Well, then the answer is 'maybe, if I get a good reason why from each person who wants to see'.

The most intriguing...[pauses, thinking] I'd have to say anything to do with instantaneous replication and transport. Very new field on Earth right now, and one that might go somewhere...or might not, depending on your universe.

Secondly, it wasn't really a choice so much as the TARDIS--my craft--found it to...shall we say...temporally and dimensionally interesting. She tends to gravitate towards that sort of thing.

[The questions take him almost no time at all to answer.] Hands down, the twentieth century on Earth is quite possibly one of the most dangerous times to travel to, mostly because so many future-shaping events occur during the period. That said, it's ridiculously fun in places, if you time it right.

I tend to believe that you should avoid places you can't handle. But if you end up there anyway...try to deal with it the best you can.
