"As I'm sure you've all heard, I'm setting midterms," Daniel says, sitting on the desk at the front of the room. "And just a little tip for you? There are only three people in this class, so I do notice when you don't turn up."
"Right." He jumps off the desk. "For your midterm, I want a project on Noam Chomsky. Who is he, why is he important in linguistic, what has he written, et cetera, et cetera. 3,000 words, worth 40% and due in the lesson before Thanksgiving.
You have this week's lessons, and all homework until it's due in to do it. I'll be in the classroom on Thursday during class hours, which I want you to sign in to, even if you don't stay for it.
My prior warnings: don't hand this in, you get immediate detention and I reserve the right not to mark it, so it's highly likely that you will fail this semester. You can talk to me beforehand if there's mitigating circumstances, and I will accept medical evidence.
