Charlie is present. He's wrapped in a blanket and looks like he's trying to drown himself in the steaming cup of tea he's holding, but he's there.

"Today's announcements:

...I'm still sick. Jack O'Neill is also sick according to Janet Fraiser, and is off the hook detentionwise.

Kitty Pryde... Well, I'm sure you've all heard and it's a good thing I already feel miserable otherwise I'd totally angst about that.

"Today you get an easy one. Give an example of maths used in daily life consciously, and one where it's used unconsciously." He points vaguely in Broots direction, then wraps his hand around the cup again. "If he feels like it, he can ask you questions about your answers."

"After doing the reading you've done... What kind of project with computers would you like to do?" Charlie looks sheepish. "And can someone write down what you decide? Because otherwise I might not remember." And with that, he starts sipping the tea again.

Maia yawned and stood up. "I found the Hebrew Numerals to be the best beacause my adopted mom is Jewish and" yawns again "sorry- and its the primary basis of understand in religious class when we are learning to speak Hebrew."

Han thinks a minute. "When I'm plotting a course, I'm deliberately using math to figure distances and routes and fuel needed and time it takes. When I'm shooting at something, I'm uncnsciously using math to aim."

"A conscious use of math would be addin' up prices when ya go shoppin', makin' sure ya have enough money fer everythin' yer wanting ta purchase. A unconscious use would be singin' either with or without accompaniment, keepin' yerself on key and at th' right speed fer th' song."

Well, I definitely have to use math when I'm playing Pyramid. Scores, obviously, and knowing how much time is on the clock. Also, and I know this is kind of really easy, but figuring out how many opposing players are around me in a direction I want to go. It's not fancy math, but I have to roughly calculate the odds of me getting a good shot at the goal or breaking through the defense depending on how many players are in my way.

"I chose Japanese, because they were the prettiest," Faith says. "It was cool how one, two, and three were all kinda similar to regular numbers, minus a few connecting lines."

So is most of the school. Not that Chloe and I are going to end up in school girl uniforms and pigtails wrestling for his lurve some day or anything like that.

"Preferably all together," Charlie replies once he's managed to fight his way back from the sleepy daze he's fallen into. "But in pairs would be acceptable, I guess. You'll be given until... whenever Christmas break is to complete it."
