Study Hall -- Thursday, November 3rd

Having no idea how to help other people deal with grief (her usual method of dealing with it is either to scream about how everybody else is going to die from nuclear holocaust or to shoot something), Sarah has left every possibly comfortingly cliche thing she can think of on her desk -- teddy bears, tissues, chocolate, etc. Also, in addition to the puppies, now there's a basketful of kittens for cuddling.

Meanwhile, Sarah has fallen asleep in her chair. Let it never be said that Sarah can't find a way to avoid having teenagers that aren't hers cry on her shoulders.

"Kittens!" Kiki squeals. She scoops up a roly-poly gray tiger and brings it to her desk to meet Jiji, who doesn't object too much to the kitten pouncing on his tail. Eventually, the kitten gets tired and curls up in a tiny gray fluffball under Jiji's chin.

It is way cute liek whoa.

Duce sidles over to Kiki, with a long white pasteboard box. She looks smug. "Here you go.. and here's your payment." Handing over a $10, Duce grins. "He's totally going to kill us. Thanks so much for doing this on such short notice, Kiki! We really appreciate it."

Kiki looks up from the feline adorableness with a grin. "No problem, and thanks," she takes the bill and fishes in her pocket for change. "And yes, after I finished singing, I do believe there were death threats mentioned. You and.. Jake? I think."

Kiki suddenly looks around guiltily. Death jokes probably weren't the best thing to be making today.

John comes into study hall, pulling out his criminology take home essay so he can start plotting out his paper.

Duce nods. Waving a hand, she comments hastilly, "No change needed. Don't wanna carry around a bunch of 1's all day." Grinning, she chirps, "Then he liked it. Our day wouldn't be complete without at least three incidents of Alex grumbling, growling, muttering, and scowling.. and secretly being all warm and fuzzy and happy on the inside." She snorts, shaking her head, "As though he fools anyone."

Grinning, she gestures to the box, "And now he has cake.. as soon as we can find him."

Han comes in after shop. The Swiss Army Knife essay has left him looking a little drained. He scratches the kitten's ears. "Are we going to have to get a ship's cat, too?" he teases.

Anders tosses a gumball into John's lap. "Hey, Crichton."

John grins, picks up the gumball and pops it in his mouth.

"Anders, dude. How's it goin?"

"Aside from being broke? Pretty good, pretty good." He nods and scratches his nose, revealing a Thundercats Band-Aid across his palm. "You?"

"Can't complain," he says with a shrug, laughing at the bandage. "What happened there?" John asks with a nod towards Anders' palm.

"I was stupid yesterday. Thought I'd go out and work out in the great outdoors for a change, but tree branches don't make good gym equipment." He grins ruefully. "Was too worried about Cally to think too well. QP really upset her."

"Quantum Physics?" John shifts uncomfortably, remembering that class. "Yeah, I think it might've affected us all. I was there, man."

"What the frak happened, dude? I've never seen her this shaken up." Anders grits his teeth. "I know he got bitten by a gremlin, but talk me out of going after him."

"I haven't got a clue why the gremlin affected him as much as it did. When I walked in, he totally called me out and said Lee and I were secretly kissing in closets and that we were boytoys. Okay, Lee and I are good friends, we joke around A LOT, but calling me out like that? Not cool." John clenches his fists a bit. "I got in too late to see what he said to Cally. What happened there?"

Draco grabs the puppy he usually plays with and takes it to his normal spot in the room. He didn't really like cats.

Anders shakes his head and glowers at the far wall. "I didn't get the whole thing out of her. She said he got right up in her face, like, right up in her face, and accused her of being a liar. Then she started talking about how she loves me even if she might think other guys are cute, so I'm wondering if he accused her of cheating on me or something. I'm telling you, man, I have never seen her this freaked out."

John's eyes widen in shock. He'd missed all of that. "Dude, you want me to try talking to her since I was there? Or can I do anything to help? That's...yeah man, I can see why you wanna go after him."

"I think she's okay now, but yeah . . . could you, maybe?"

"Definitely. Whatever he said, she didn't deserve it. And I hope the Doctor apologizes during our next class. If me and Cally are any indication, he wrecked havoc."

Kiki laughs. "Cupcakes AND cake?" she giggles, tucking the money back into her pocket. "You don't pull any punches, do you? With luck - if he shows up for study hall - we can get everyone to sing him happy birthday again."

Duce grins evilly, "Oh, this is just the beginning. We have no idea what Jake and Chloe and D'anna and the rest of his friends will get up to. Serves him right, for not giving anyone any notice!" She attempts to look virtuous, but kinda fails. "We would've gotten his input, if we'd had time! And he'll be at Study Hall if we have to drag him here by the ear."
