George was in way too good a mood today to bother trying for cranky. She hadn't seen the e-mail from Portalocity, and it kind of wouldn't affect her anyway if she had.

So she was going for a cheerful sort of apathetic. Like the sort of staring at a wall that was because you felt like it and not because you hated everything, ever. Because sometimes you could be apathetic and content. At least that was what George was going to say. Shut up.

"Not everything sucks," she decided. "I'm just saying."

Hell was decidedly chilly today.

... If you have enough care invested to stage a coup, then you are probably doing it wrong, but feel free to bitch up a storm about her being fucking cheerful (for George values of cheerful, obviously).

For those things which do, in fact, suck, of which there are many.

The presence of things which do not suck has not rid the world of the much greater existence of things which suck. Truism.

It may not be a horribly disastrous idea, for once.

George is in a good mood. Somewhere, a kitten was born with no eyes and some river has turned to blood. THE END TIMES ARE NEAR.

Squall

Squall gave George a smirk and shrugged. Hey, they club was still here, and they were still doing their thing. So long as she wasn't throwing a party or whatever, he was fine.

"Good," he told her.

Jeremy Darling

Jeremy was feeling pretty good too, honestly. But then that wasn't much of a change, except maybe from last week. But then, he hadn't even shown up last week.

But, yes. He just looked relaxed.

"Not everything sucks, huh?"

Jeremy Darling, professional Apathy Club ruiner, was smirking.

"Good?" she asked. Not challenging him. Just curious.

You did not expect her to be verbose, did you, Squall? It's still apathy club.

Damn him anyways for ruining her fun. She was horribly upset about it. Could he tell?

"I'm having a good week," she said, proudly. "I made out with a hot guy."

Daisy would probably have advised being mysterious or something. George was not good at mysterious.

Squall moved to a chair near Jeremy, and nodded at him. "Hey."

"Yes, good," Squall reiterated. "Things not sucking is good."

Verbosity and Squall didn't mix well.

"Hey, dude," Jeremy replied with a little nod. "Good apathy?"

Or whatever it was that you were meant to say in a situation like this.

And Daisy wasn't here, and Jeremy didn't much care for mystery, anyway.

"Really?" he asked, mock clueless even as his smirk turned into a grin. "Anyone I know?"

Squall shrugged. "Whatever."

He looked over at George, and gestured to her. "So... Congratulations. Or thanks. Or whatever." He frowned, not sure what he was actually trying to say. "I mean... I don't know. If you hurt her, I'll hurt you."

"He's in the group," George admitted, eyes dancing. "Hot, fun, likes bad movies, wears the hell out of a suit. We might even be dating. I'm not up on the definitions kids these days use. What's the distinction between people who go on dates and dating-as-a-thing?"

"So ... you don't think things suck, either?" she asked. Just curious.

Squall considered that.

"Most things suck," he concluded. "But some things are good enough that they take your mind off of how much other things suck."

"Uh." Well, that had been unexpected. Even though Jeremy had gotten similar words from other people before, and was vaguely aware Squall and George were friends, or something.

He hesitated for a second, then said, "I'm... not intending to hurt her?"

"I have no idea." Sadly, he kind of didn't. He'd rarely made it past the casual going on dates phase. "I might be interested in finding out, though. I'm sure this mystery dude would be, too."

Really, this was just supposed to have been a "thank you for making her happy", and Squall wasn't sure why he'd sidetracked it onto this note. It was easier for him to handle, though.

"Good," he replied darkly. "Don't."

Juliet Darling

"I think I'm going to be in the holiday show," ?Juliet said, brightly and not apathetically at all. "I auditioned, anyhow. They'll have the cast list up on Monday!"

"You know," she said, deciding to drop the third-person antics. "I think we get to decide. I mean. We do, don't we? There's not ... some kind of official committee, is there?"

If there was, she was totally fucked. She was probably disqualified on account of dead. Fuck their stupid committee.

"Good luck," George said. "It's Jono running that, right? He used to be my roommate."

She could totally put in a good word for Juliet, if need be. Not that she was doubting Juliet's skills. Just saying.

"I'll drink to that," George decided. Er.

"Or I would, if we had alcohol." She sighed. "Next week, someone bring alcohol."

Squall blinked at her and shrugged. "Are you asking me to?" he asked. "Or just stating that you wish someone would?"

Juliet nodded. "Jono and Troy," she said. "I mostly talked to Troy this week. Do you know him, too?"

Okay, so she was maybe a bit more interested in the non-blue director.

"No, sorry," George said, shaking her head. "I can ask Jono about him, if you want. I need to stop in and see what he's up to, anyway."

"... Either," George said. "If I ... asked you, I mean, would you?"

Squall shrugged. "Okay, I will."

Seifer Almasy

Seifer was in a fucking cheerful mood as well.

Maybe it was something in their room.

He had a kitten, had decided to skip work ~~due to player working sales all day and then having to be SOCIAL, wtf?!~~, and was hanging out in apathy club.

See, cheerful.

And Jeremy was more used to being intimidated than he was to being thanked for making anyone happy. He was also easily intimidated in general.

So, he shook his head rather quickly. "I won't. I like her. A lot."

Not that that had stopped him from messing things up before.

"No, I don't think there's a committee," he mused, still smiling. "Guess it's kind of up to us, huh?"

Except it was one of those things he kind of needed to talk over with his sister, first.

Conveniently, there wasn't a time-table on it, either. He could confer with Juliet all he needed to.

"Okay," she said. "So ... uh. Do you ... want to be dating?"

This was possibly a dumb question, since they had been on dates, but it seemed semi-official-ish while also not intimidating like some of the other possibilities would be.

Jeremy chuckled a little. "Dude, have I been acting like I don't want to be dating?"

Of course, he wasn't entirely sure which definition of 'dating' they were going for, here. But it hardly mattered.
