Creative Arts, Monday Period 2, Week 5

"Oil painting," Steve began, "is probably a form you're somewhat familiar with, as it's been used to create many of your more familiar works of art, including the Mona Lisa." He gave a brief history of the form, then a rundown on how to work with the medium, before telling the students, "Your assignment today is portraiture. It can be a self-portrait, a portrait of someone else in the class, or a portrait from memory. It can be a portrait of someone you made up. It's not like I would know. Have fun with it, and, as always, I'm here if you get stuck or need some help."

Bod appreciated the background Professor Rogers had given since he hadn't really delved that far into things on his own. Art was such a vast, vast category that it was almost intimidating.

Cassidy was very focused as she started painting. She figured doing a portrait of her mom and Poppi wouldn't be a bad one to do.

Bod wasn't sure how it would turn out but he started painting a portrait of Kate. It'd probably be unrecognizable but it was the thought that counted, right?

Quinn decided to try to paint herself as a boy, both for the challenge and as a souvenir of something she hoped to never, ever live through again.

It wasn't too horrible.

Scully was painting Mulder from memory. It probably wasn't recognizable if you didn't know him, but it wasn't too bad.

Once again, Tony's painting looked more like a horrible blob of color. Look, he was way better at this stuff on a computer.

Yay oils indeed! Butters usually didn't get to use fancy paints like these very often, so he found it a little difficult to sit through the history part when all he wanted to get to was painting a portrait! Who would he paint? Himself? His parents? Maybe something nice like Jesus or Santa? Or Kim Kardashian, since she was so beautiful.

There were so many possibilities!

After all was said and done, Butters realized that the solution to his problem was fusing the classic Mona Lisa with his beautiful Kim Kardasian.

The result (http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=mona%20lisa&order=9&offset=24#/d2t1srf) looked oddly like that artwork on the boy's bathroom wall... (http://fandomhighdorms.livejournal.com/2123034.html#comments)
