that apathy thing, some room, after the whatever, wait do really I have to go? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Okay, to be honest, it had been a little difficult at first for George to find the proper mood for Apathy Club. Because she had missed it. (Shut up.) These were her ... crew. Sort of. And Seifer was bringing music, and Jeremy was going to be there, and they were -- uh. They had gone on a date. That meant something, right?
However, George was a professional. More importantly, she had to actually get out of bed (yes, this was afternoon. Do not judge her) and go over to the school on a day that she didn't even have classes, and then fucking run the stupid thing, and that helped considering with putting her in the proper state of mind.
About ten minutes after the club should have started -- most of which George spent with her head down on her desk -- she finally spoke.
"Congratulations," she said. "You have somehow signed up for the most worthless club in all existence. You could have been doing your nails with the sorority or actually helping people in Pride. You could have been out with your friends, assuming you have any. You could be in your room right now, reading a book. Staring at the wall. Hell, masturbating."
She shrugged. "Literally any of those would have been better. Do not blame me when you realize I am right, because I do not give a fuck. So: great job, guys, signing up for something this stupid. Make sure you're here bright and early next week for more fun."
And then she put her head back down. She was going to stay like that unless anybody bugged her.
... or maybe unless Jeremyif he was there wanted to make out or something.
(OCD incoming!)

Write a Name [ap]
Write your name. Be a non-conformist and write someone else's name. Write the name of a country, a music group, or a type of pollen that causes allergy. George does not give a fuck.
Hang Out in the Back, Avoid Eye Contact, and Be Sullen [ap]
Fuck those stupid clubs.
If you wanted to "mingle," maybe you should have joined something that wasn't named apathy club.
Discussion Topic: The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty [ap]
Nice try.
REAL Discussion Topic: Spray-On Cheese [ap]
Yeah. That's how we roll, bitches. Be happy you got a fucking topic.
Eyeroll, Bitch and Moan [ap]
Other people will ignore you or mock you or maybe both.
If you feel the need to get your hate on about this stupid group that you willingly signed up for, that can go here too.
Don't Talk to George [ap]
Unless you want to play some music.
Or make out, if you are Jeremy.
Or make out if you're not Jeremy, but happen to be hot.
What?

an episodelong. But he could zone out like a boss, so he did that.
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
It was an hour dedicated to doing nothing. He excelled at that, even if he sucked at being sullen.

This was also her attempt to fob off responsibility onto anyone else at all whatsoever.
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
"It's ... something," she said, cracking a smile. "I dunno. We like it. We just don't ever admit to liking it under threat of torture."
Re: Talk to What's-His-Face [ap]
It was Friday, didn't kids have something better to be doing?
Re: REAL Discussion Topic: Spray-On Cheese [ap]
"Whatever."

Squall looked Professor Gardener over intently, trying to assess him -- but didn't do anything so rash as actually talking to him.
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
"So it's almost like a secret? Liiike... 'the first rule of Apathy Club is that you don't talk about liking Apathy Club'?"
[Aaand this is sady where I go AFK for most of the weekend.]
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
She might be worried about the others kicking her out, if (a) she gave a damn (b) any of them bothered enough to try (c) whatever.
"The first rule of Apathy Club," she said, "is 'whatever.' The second rule of Apathy Club is, of course, 'what the fuck, we have rules now? That's so fucking lame.' The third rule ... yeah there's no third rule."
(holy shit somehow, I saw that, and went "aww, okay. Have a great weekend!" and then ... FORGOT TO PING. Like, and went through my inbox JUST NOW looking for shit I missed and went "... wait, I pinged back to that, right? Because ... HOLY CRAP, no I didn't." What the FUCK, self? I'd blame the months-ago head injury but let's face it, at this point I'm just dumb. Sorry?)
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
Understatement.
[Heh, no problem! I was too braindead after getting home late last night to write a coherent ping before now, anyway.]
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
Apathy club: well-named.
Re: Don't Talk to George [ap]
Smiiirk.
