Dream is wearing a sombrero today, and he does not look at all silly. Really. He has also put a plastic pumpkin full of hard candy on his desk for students to take from as they wish.

A dragon naps curled up on a blanket on the corner of a classroom. Some students may recognize him.

Hello.

To mark All Hallow's Eve, we will be discussing supernatural events in class today. I hope you find them entertaining. I have also handed out vocabulary sheets of words used around this holiday.

Classics students: I will read to you Homer's account of Achilles' encounter with the ghost of Patroclus. Note how the description of the ghost compares to our modern concept of spirits, or hauntings, and write a paragraph about this for class Wednesday.

Languages of Asia: The Jiangshi, or "hopping corpses," are the vampires of China. Many folktales feature them, and I will recount a few now. For homework, write a paragraph on how these vampires compare to the vampires of your home dimension.

Dream dims the lights in his classroom.

He is an excellent storyteller.

Evelyn signed in and listed to the story, taking notes every so often.

Draco signs in and listens to the ghost story. He is fairly amused at the muggle concept of ghosts and is reminded of the ones at Hogwarts.

Sam signed in and tried to listen to the ghost story, but was mostly distracted by her own thoughts and concerns.

Rogue signs in and listens attentively. She walks and acts as if she's in a dream, a tiny smile on her face the whole time.

"Professor Dream? I just wanted to let you know that Jack O'Neill is in the ~~infirmary~~ clinic with pneumonia and won't be in class until further notice."

[ooc: Jack-mun also has pneumonia, so he presumably won't be around again until she's better.]

That is fine.

I will give him makeup work when he returns.

Tell him I wish him a speedy recovery.

"I will. Thank you, sir." She tries not to grimace at the idea of Jack dealing with make-up work and reminds herself to take really, really thorough notes until he's better.

Thomasina signs her name to the roll, takes her seat and proceeds to make careful notes in her exercise book whilst listening to the Professor read.

Janet signed in and took a seat near Sam. She listed to the ghost story while doodling in her notebook.

*Settles in to hear about Chinese vampires. He is most enthralled by Dream's storytelling.*

Janet leaves a note for Professor Dream about Jack's infirmary stay and works on her independent study.

Rory signs in, setting ~~Toto~~ Vladdie by her desk in his basket, and listens to the story.

Rory listens to the story, and after class, goes and kneels next to Lockheed, petting him for a few minutes.

Dream watches Rory and Lockheed.

He misses her, he says, with quiet certainty.

"Well...hopefully we'll find her. And then he won't miss her anymore," Rory replies, glancing up.

Dream gives Rory a small smile.

That is the hope, yes.

He doesn't say how unlikely he believes it is; it is right that the young should have such hope.

Connor signs in, and takes his usual seat. He settles in to listen to the tales.

Having been told that Lockheed is with Dream, Phoebe goes to see him. She crouches near her friend and pets his head. She looks at Dream in concern.

"Kitty?"

Murphy signs in a few minutes later.

For some reason, he takes a seat a few spaces away from his twin.

*listens*

*is impressed by Dream's storytelling skills*

*wonders why she hadn't heard about Chinese vampires before*

Signs in, listens.

Signs in, listens, learns.

Connor galnces at him, eyes the empty seat directly beside him and gives Murphy a confused look.

Murphy bites his lip and turns away, seemingly focused on his notetaking.

Connor wonders if he did something to upset Murphy, and thinks if anyone has a right to be upset it's him since Murphy never showed at the Halloween Ball last night.

Sonia signs in and listens intently to Dream's story.

Anders signs in and listens. He's intrigued by how much this sounds like something he could've read back home.

Not that he could've heard someone tell it nearly as well back home, though.

She is ... missing. Lockheed does not know exactly what happened.

Phoebe looks at Dream in concern, and then looks back down at her friend. She swallows and looks back at Dream.

"Kitty is my roommate and a good friend...as is Lockheed."

It sounds as though Miss Pryde was very special. As is Lockheed.

She's been gone since Thursday. Something happened in town. We're trying to find out what -- Lockheed's memory was confused.

Phoebe nodded and ran her hand along Lockheed's head, looking for injury.

"Sir, he's my friend...when we find out what has happened, or even sooner, would I be allowed to keep him with me, for awhile. I would like to do something for him and help find Kitty. He and Kitty..." Phoebe swallowed. "They've always been there for me, no matter how alone I've felt."

You should talk to Dean Bristow or Alanna Trebond. Miss Trebond is investigating the incident. She may want to talk to you.

As for Lockheed ... I'll ask him when he wakes up. He is comfortable with me, though, and I can talk to him, which is useful."

[OOC: Kitty's player is still writing Lockheed -- check with her about where she wants the dragon to go. Also, it looks like this plot kind of exploded while I was offline, so ... lots of reading to do.]
