Everything's A Weapon, Wednesday, Period 3
Today, to counteract the weather outside, the Danger Shop was set up to look just like the grounds outside the dorms should have looked in the summertime. Blue skies, green grass, chirping birds in the trees.
Summer. Summer was nice.
“Yo, Rookies!” Reno was only slightly self-conscious about his ‘yo’ thing since that weird broadcast on Sunday. But only a little. “Today, we’re gonna bring things a little closer to home, yo. The dorms are usually a safe place, but it’s happened once or twice that somethin’ goes right ahead and tries to storm ‘em anyhow. And when that happens, much as we teachers hate it, the job of keepin’ the place safe usually seems to fall right on the shoulders of the students who live there, yo.”
“Considering school rules require you to keep your weapons locked away--” and Cindy was just going to pointedly ignore any evidence to the contrary, thanks, “--that means that if something gets between you and that storage locker, you might find yourself defending yourself and others empty-handed.”
Sometimes that worked. For every other time, there was makeshift weaponry.
“In a real situation like the one we just described, you’d at least be able to grab a few useful items to fight with,” she continued. “Knives in the kitchen, sports equipment in the rec room, practice weapons in the salle... However, that’s not exactly the spirit of the class. Those are items that are frequently used as weapons, regardless of their intended purpose. So don’t bother looking for anything like that. If you want something useful, you’re either going to have to scrounge for it or make it yourself.”
[Hold for OCD. Pray I actually get to post it. OCD ACHIEVED! IT ONLY TOOK THE BETTER PART OF AN HOUR! \o/]
