Again, the class met in a normal classroom. There were sketchpads and colored pencils at each desk, as they'd be necessary for the day's activity.

"Right, right," he said, very excited for the day, it seemed. "Now that we've established that you all need little people to do your bidding, now it's time to come up with their uniform. Helmets that obscure their ugly faces? Hats with gigantic plumes? Spandex and domino masks? It's all really down to making sure that no matter what, they never are quite as fashionable as you. After all, you are the main event, they are the ones who, at any time, could be filling a coffin a they've thwarted an assassination attempt by valiantly taking the bullet. Possibly forcibly. But I digress."

"As a pirate captain, I did not dictate a uniform so much as the profession had its own very particular motif. I, of course, was the grandest of all, with the brightest coat and the largest hat. None had as fine of clothes as I, and if they dared to try, I'd gut them for their cheek."

There was a brief break as he chuckled.

"But now, I want to see what you all think is the best idea for your future underlings. So, chop chop, get to drawing, I'll come around and critique you all individually. And do feel free to talk it over with your neighbors. Don't want to have henchmen that might accidentally look just like your neighboring megalomaniac's, do you!"

Another laugh.

"Well now, get to it!"

Karla

Karla wasn't actively grieving today, which was a decided improvement from last week, but the Reaping had effectively killed whatever high spirits the weekend had left her with.

But at least she was able to focus, today.

The First Circle didn't usually wear outfits as such, but Karla was willing to give it a go anyway.

Let's see, blue and silver obviously. And not spandex, as Warren would kill her. But, hmm, leather pants? That had possibilities.

Hook peered over her shoulder to take a look.

"Very regal coloring. Purple not to your liking, I take it? Or are these the colors of your land?"

Elle Bishop

Elle didn't know Karla all that well, but they had certain connections that meant she was damn near obligated to at least try and check on her.

"Need to talk?" she asked quietly.

Between Cassidy and rescuing Hayley together, Karla was willing to acknowledge that claim, oh yes.

"Huh?" Karla looked up and over to Elle and managed a small smile. "I'm just..." A vague hand gesture to the left, apparently. "It's been a long month. I lost a friend last week and another's going into something really horrible and it's getting kinda hard to deal, you know?"

She huffed a self-conscious laugh. "That might have been a little more than you were expecting, huh?"

"Glacia's colors," Karla said, nodding. Let's see, the males' shirts should be fitted in case they had to fight... "We don't really go in for the trappings of royalty in this world much, either. No ermine, no purple, no fancy titles."

Just Protocol.

"A little bit," Elle said candidly, before smiling faintly. "It's okay, though. You obviously needed to get it out."

She could be wise like that. Occasionally.

"I'm around if you ever want to talk outside of class, too -- or go to Caritas and get drunk together. I'm versatile like that."

"You have no idea how tempting Caritas sounds right now," Karla groaned, rubbing at the bridge of her nose. "It's just thing after thing after thing, you know? You barely get your feet back under you and then someone's yanking them out again."

"Oh, Queen isn't fancy enough, is it?" Hook said with a self satisfied chuckle.

"Yeah," Elle said, nodding slightly. "I know. Just when you figure out how to deal with something, along comes something else that throws your entire world out of whack and how do you deal with that?"

"Yeah, but nobody calls me that," Karla said, giving a ghost of a laugh. "That would just be weird."

Oooh, dagger boots, like she had. Yep, those were getting drawn right now.

"Lady, Lord, and Prince. Those are the titles we recognize. We like to keep things simple."

Except for how Protocol was never, ever simple. You know, ignoring that.

"And that's bad enough, but when it happens three or four times in as many weeks, you start to run out of ways to cope," Karla said, grimacing slightly. "Except to turn into a giant whine-box, as I've apparently done."

"I see that the lady will require strict physical fitness requirements," Hook remarked. "Or else some barrel-chested fellows will look awfully odd in that outfit."

"If my Master of the Guard is anything like some of the others I have met over the years, they shouldn't have a problem," Karla said. Oooh, there should be some kind of identifying mark for her inner triangle. Hmmm, what should it be. "He'll have them up doing drills before breakfast."

Though, she supposed that she could let out the pants a little. Maybe.

"Ah, if only pirating could have such stringent requirements of physical aptitude," Hook said. "Well then, good work, good work. Very particular. Very keen."

Damian Wayne

Damian drew a warrior in black pants, black shirt, green boots, a red overtunic and a black hooded cape. With a sword, of course. He left off the yellow cape and the "R" on the tunic so as not to be too obvious.
