Adventures, Capers and Escapes - Danger Shop, Thursday Period 3

Around the Danger Shop today, there were the contents of flatpack furniture boxes from the Isle of Ikea strewn across the floor. There were several piles of what would be furniture when it was assembled.

"Today you're going to help something that you may or may not recognise as sentient. These may look like ordinary pieces of furniture waiting to be assembled. In actual fact, they're alive in most senses of the word. They may not be able to speak, but they do have thoughts and feelings and hopes and dreams and goals. You're going to help them achieve their goal. They want to be whole. Of course, when you approach them, they're not going to know that your intentions are good or that you mean to help them. You're going to help them reach their full potential as furniture anyway. Collect your Allen key sets and get to it!"

Cara was never going to be a carpenter, but she could at least follow directions...when they were in a language she could understand.

She might be there a while.

Cara was there, and had not yet been reduced to violence against plywood.

Allen key in hand, Elphaba frowned a bit.

"It'd be awful, able to think but unable to speak or act," she said. "Is there no way we can help them? Other than making them whole, of course."

Helen was in a mostly good mood today (unlike her annoyed mun) and set about the task with good will. Of course, if the furniture was particularly fractious, she made no promises...

Being of the sort that actually liked putting stuff together -- though not as much as taking stuff apart -- Claudia was actually rather cheerful as she approached what looked like a large dresser, armed with an assortment of Allen wrenches and a rubber mallet.

She was a little suspicious that the Doctor was just having them put his new furniture together for him. Especially after the third time she managed to attach the top upside down and backwards.

Bobby was thoroughly reading the instructions and then getting disgruntled that they didn't seem to make sense. Wasn't that the point of instructions?

"Does anyone else think there's something kind of...creepy about this?" Roy asked. He wasn't sure he was going to be able to look at his bed the same again.

Also, why could he not find piece J?
