Physics [Noon]

This introductory physics class will be done much like my other two classes, so those of you who are in them have heard most of this before. You will be required to have a partner. No, that is not optional.

Please be certain to bring a graphing calculator with you at all times, as well as your textbooks and notebook. I wouldn't want things to be boring, therefore we will be going back and forth between the two a lot.

If anyone has an idea of a good field trip destination for this class, by all means, speak up.

*Her lecture even on this first day is much more animated than the other two classes -- this is her baby, after all. She includes brief anecdotes on using physics to solve crimes.*

*saunters in looking glum, having just heard that lab partners will be required*

*bounces in looking perky and sits at the front of the room* Hi, Miss Sidle!

Morning, Miss. Well... *taps his chin thoughtfully with a garish pink pencil* ...so far most of my classes have been annoyingly introductory. The one about cheese caught me unawares, though.

Morning!

*smiles at the Prof.*

Partners? I didn't know we had to have partners. Do we get to choose or will we be assigned them?

*thinks...*

*raises hand*

Actually, if it's field trips you were thinking of, I'm busy fixing up an old transport ship with [livejournal.com profile] washwaslaconic - maybe when we've sorted out the atmo problems we could do null-g experiments on board? I'm sure he wouldn't take much persuading to pilot the class?

*blushing with own audacity, sits back down and starts pulling out calculator and textbooks from brightly striped bag*

Oh yes, the Lifestyle seminar seems to be mostly about cheese. And early 60's sitcoms, whatever they are. Somehow I expected something... flashier.

*sighs and starts to leaf through the studybook, mumbling something about there being no time for introductions and niceties*

[identity profile] smallfry-.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :)

*sits back and starts taking notes*

*hopes that that cute guy running the physics study-group will appear and maybe want to pair up...*

*walks in, sees Kaylee and sits next to her* Hi. *smiles* What did I miss? Nothing important, I hope.

*takes a desk at the very back of the classroom*

Since I'm auditing this, do I have to have a partner or what?

[identity profile] smallfry-.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
*smiles back*

Hi, again!

Nothing much yet - we've just been getting to grips with these calculators so far - you know how to use one of these things? *waves graphing calculator, whose screen now shows nothing but fuzzy grey lines interspersed with the occasional flashing green dot*

I'm afraid I'm better with mechanical things than computers, I think *sighs*

Prof. [livejournal.com profile] equalmcsquared says we gotta have a partner for this class. Fancy pairing up?

*hastily adds* for this physics class, I mean.

[identity profile] big-brother-tam.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* Yes, that'd be quite satisfactory.

Especially if it means I don't get partnered with a neanderthal like Cobb.

I'm all right with graphing calculators. They're not too hard, once you get the hang of them. Just numbers.

I'm here, and I'm ready to get physical. :::innocent smile::::

*takes fascinated notes*

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Um... if it doesn't work right, refer to the first law?

(Hey, I was a Time Agent. Not an engineer!)

*wanders in, fresh from the gym*

Lab partners? I like to work alone.

*sighs and looks around, hoping to find someone*

::pads in about 10 minutes late, looking very disheveled::

My humble apologies for my tardiness, Ms. Sidle. Ms. Frasier was locked into the bathroom and my assistance was required.

::takes a seat, pulls out text and notebook, starts taking notes::

[identity profile] bluemanoncampus.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
::whispers:: I enjoyed playing poker with you, Kara. Have you acquired a lab partner yet?

[identity profile] pyramid-is-life.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Why, you offering?

[identity profile] bluemanoncampus.livejournal.com 2005-09-09 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Certainly. I can divine some of your tells this way. ::grins, obviously joking::

*comes in and takes notes*
