Getting Out of Tight Situations- Period 5- Class #6

Today the students would find themselves standing on a desert small island in the middle of the ocean, with no other land in sight. Jaina herself was standing on the beach beside a large yellow life raft, and unfortunately last week's good mood had not carried over.

"This scenario might be a little obvious. You've been stranded on this island. You've got a couple choices. Either you can stay on the island, or you can set off in the raft. The mainland is out there, you've seen it. So it's up to you to each decide which way to go, collect your supplies, and work together however you think is appropriate. By the end of the class, a plane might very well come by, and it'd be up to you to attract its attention.

"Oh," Jaina added, "the raft probably has rose petals in it. I've cleaned them out twice and now you're going to have to deal."

During the lecture/make a plan

Decide whether you're going to stay or go, and gather your totally moddable, use your desert island common sense supplies either way.

Head out in the raft

If you're going to make a break for it, hop in the raft and set off together.

The plane will show up over the water at some point, but you get to decide whether or not it spots you.

Stay on the island

[solo_sword]

Try to attract the attention of any passing planes and such.

You'll be able to see the plane that flies over the raft, but it's farther out there, so you have to work harder to get their attention.

Talk to Jaina

Who probably still has rose petals in her shoes or bra or something uncomfortable.

Normally Cara would have been listening to the lecture (at least pretending to), but the clumps of rose petals everywhere meant she spent most of it sneezing instead.

... Yeah, there was no chance of him not trying out that raft.

James gawped at the yellow...thing. It did not look stable enough to support his weight. He was not about to test it.

Still, this place could be worse. He looked around for a likely spot to make camp after he sorted through the supplies.

James took some of the the rope scraps and pieces of the plastic canvas and fashioned a passable tent between two trees. He would at least have shelter from the rain and the sun as he plotted the next steps.

Yeah, there was no way Stephanie was going to stick around on the island.

She was, however, keenly aware of the fact that calling Alfred to have him arrange some kind of rescue transport was well out of the question, plus darn the luck, she . . . had her utility belt and all her supplies in her backpack, but she wasn't about to be pulling those out.

But she could wing it, right? She'd gotten along just fine before she had access to any Wayne Industries gear, and she could get along just fine now. But they'd need food and water, and she could sneak off by herself to get some of that and take advantage of some of her gear in the process.

"I'm going to go round up supplies for the raft," she announced, shouldering her backpack to head out.

Hopefully everyone can swim. Sheesh, that thing looks dicey.
