Newspaper meeting, Tuesday after classes, Journalism Room [1/25]

Blackagar had somehow come to the conclusion that a newspaper ran on coffee. Thanks a lot, internet. It was just a good thing his browser had parental controls on it or there would be an even stranger idea of what to do.

Yeeeah.

There was a note neatly printed on the oh so conveniant dry erase board for when people arrived:

Welcome to the newspaper. Cally is unwell and will not be joining us this week, but I am sure she would welcome you as well. Please discuss what you would like to write for the first paper on Saturday.

Short and to the point. It was for the best when you couldn't talk.

Ariel wouldn't know the difference between poorly made coffee and well made coffee if it bit her in the butt. She figured, though, that it was a very Newspaper thing to do, and so there she was, wincing every time she brought her mug to her lips, nursing it nice and slowly, yes....

Ellie did know the difference between good and bad coffee, but as long as caffeine was involved, she would deal with it.

"Hi, guys!" Ariel gave a wave to the rest of the newspaper crew. "I'm going to be doing horoscopes for the paper, so if you want a particularly good one for your sign, just let me know and I'll see what I can do."

Because it totally worked that way.

"I'm willing to write anything," Ellie said. "Maybe a movie or tv show review?"

"Ellie, hi!" Ariel blushed slightly as she smiled over at the other girl. "I didn't know you were going to help with the newspaper, too!"

Ellie waved, offering a smile. "Hey Ariel. Yeah, I helped out with it last year. Figured it might be fun to work on it again."

Oh, humans.

"Oooh, what did you write?" Ariel asked, bouncing a little. "I'm doing horoscopes!"

"I hope so." Ellie shrugged. "People might want to know if a movie they want to see is worth it. Sometimes they use reviews to determine that."

"Sometimes I wrote spotlights on some of the businesses in town. Sometimes I wrote reviews," Ellie replied. "Oooh, horoscopes are fun. I always like to read mine."

"Which iiiiisss...?" Ariel prompted with a grin.

"I'm a Libra," Ellie replied. "I will definitely be on the lookout for it in this newspaper."

"Hmmmm, Libra," said Ariel, narrowing her eyes slightly as she looked at Ellie thoughtfully. "I...have a feeling Libra might be having a very good prediction next week."

And she almost avoided giggling. Almost.

Ellie would have avoided giggling, but it was just so infectious. "That is definitely good to know."
