While the boys would find their usual spread of pizzas, salty snacks, and carbonated beverages available for them at this week’s meeting, they would also find a few things extra. Alexander and Zack had come in early to decorate the table with spiderwebs, plastic spiders, and a generous smattering of gummi bugs and worms.

“Heya, guys!” Zack, decidedly mustard-free and in a fairly awesome mood, grinned and waved hello to the group. “I guess next week, there’s some kind of holiday coming up? I’m not really from around here at all, so I don’t know much about this kind of thing, but I know that it’s supposed to be all spooky, so we’ve got a bit of a community project planned out for next weekend that hopefully you’ll all enjoy!”

“We were sort of thinking,” Alexander grinned just as easily, “that, perhaps, we could find some space and set up a sort of haunted house to go along with the holiday. A spooky haunted house in one area, and a scary movie marathon in another area, as well. We could each contribute something to the haunted house, and we could start raising money for the fraternity by charging a very small admission fee.”

As to what they were raising money for, that was still to be decided.

Probably a spaceship.

“So! Grab yourself some snacks, and let’s get brainstorming about things we can do to make this haunted house awesome!” And when Zack talked about awesome things, darn it, he meant it! “We want to have this thing on Saturday night, so that people can do their usual Hallow-thing on Sunday, so if you’ll be around that day, it would be awesome of you to swing by in costumes to help out, too!”

Grab some pizza or some gummi creepy crawlies and something to drink, and hang around and talk and stuff. Like you do.

What kind of creepy, awesome things would you like to see in an haunted house? And will you be around next Saturday to help set up and participate? Volunteer monsters totally get paid in gummy bugs! ~~And you know you want that spaceship.~~

Neither of which are from Earth, but they’re not going to let that stop them from making this Hallowhatever into the most awesome weird holiday thing ever!

Who is here to ensure that you’re not going to use real chainsaws in your haunted house exhibit. That would only end poorly.

We’re hoping to have this haunted house in an abandoned warehouse on Saturday. If you get any awesome ideas, feel free to run with them, and even if your character can’t participate, we’ll be sure to find a way to work it in! You can be the corpse!

Peter Bishop had the worst attendance record of the club, probably. But he'd actually shown up this week. Possibly because of the siren call of free pizza.

"What's our aim, here?" Peter said. "Like actually scaring the pants off of people, or more 'boo, lol, isn't that scary' stuff?"

And yes, he just said 'lol', pronounced 'lawl'.

Alexander might have already had his own plans in mind for his Hallowhatever costume, and it left him chuckling to himself quite often, even if he was pretty sure it would be earning him some deadly glares.

"I suppose," Alexander reasoned, wondering if he should know what lawl meant, "that is something else we can determine today. I imagine a little bit of both would be a good combination."

But he snorted a bit, a faint laugh. "I'm not sure I'd inadvertently want to actually frighten some of our classmates, considering how I imagine some of them might react to that."

That would probably end very poorly. While he trusted the young men of the frat to be careful, it was better safe than sorry. Fraser was there, ready to be helpful if needed.

"The last thing we want is, like, Karla nuking our haunted house with magic," Peter said with a chuckle.

Ben was confused by the gummi...things. They looked a bit like something a Hutt would eat.

"These are food?" he asked warily.

"They are," said Alexander, grinning a bit. "Despite how they may look, they're quite sweet, like candy."

"Candy...bugs," Ben said. "This planet is weird."

"Colorful candy bugs," Alexander pointed out, because that seemed to be particularly crucial. "I couldn't agree more. Most critters with colors like that use them as a sign that they're poisonous, don't they?"

Ben nodded. "Not that I eat a lot of bugs," he added quickly.

Zack had noooo idea what he was going to dress up as for the weird Earth holiday. He was comfortable in his costume!

... He supposed, if he really had to, he could probably come up with a costume of one of the monsters from home. But when there was so much to choose from, he was still kind of at a loss.

Goose was there, he had decided to stick with something familiar and grab a slice of piece instead.

Free tacos in class, and free pizza and gummi spiders now? Chuck was doing awesome today, yes.

Trouble was, he knew very little about haunted houses. But he was thinking about while he stuffed his face with pizza. Occasionally.

Blackagar didn't quite understand the reasoning behind this holiday they spoke of, but he wasn't going to draw any attention to that fact. In case they also had it in Germany.

So, he was just going to listen to everyone and gather all the information he could.
