The Science of Deduction, Friday - 10/22
Class today was held in the danger shop rather than the proper classroom. Which tended to mean they would be working on an actual crime. Or that Sherlock had found something interesting to do with the programing there.
He made his own fun.
When they arrived, all that lay in the room was a chalkboard and a corpse. Written on that chalkboard was: SOLVE IT. With no 'Aaaaagh!' ending it to show the corpse died while writing that out. And, as we all know, that was what happened when someone was murdered while writing.
True story.
This was apparently Sherlock's idea of a midterm exam.

Examine the body
There don't appear to be any signs of a struggle, his suit remains in immaculate condition and no visible bruising on the body. One might think he was asleep rather than deceased from the near peacefulness of the scene.
The task then was to partner up and come to a logical conclusion for what happened here.

This one was decidedly not.
Offhandedly and a little louder, she remarked, "If I didn't know any better, I'd say he didn't talk within thirty seconds."
Re: Examine the body
Holmes kind of reminded him of how someone would look if his grandfather decided to be subtle about things and give someone a fatal brain hemorrhage--not an impression he would be sharing with anyone else.

Yeah, she wasn't letting go of her spy theory anytime soon. It wasn't like he'd tell her if she was right about it.

Next, he examined the body. Respectably clothed, naturally positioned.
"Poison?" he muttered, absently tapping his cheek. "Magic, then?" Because it was clearly either magic or poisoning, not a horrible wound hidden by the suit or strangulation or a heart attack or any of a hundred other things.

No, she didn't know what that really meant, but, "I heard doing too much with your phone can do that."

She pulled on a pair of her own gloves from her pocket and grabbed her notebook from her bag for sketches as she cast a quick eye at the scene. "No obvious signs of a struggle, there doesn't appear to be much disturbed at all." She was leaving the actual body to the others ("Like I can tell anything after everyone's been all over it, anyway," she muttered to herself.) and moved to try to examine the room and collect evidence.
Re: Examine the body
"Poison, heart failure, brain embolism, not dead at all but got slipped one of various drugs that can slow the circulatory system to a near halt," she ticked off thoughtfully then in a slightly more playful tone, added, "Or took it on purpose to get out of coming up with a lesson plan for today..."
