Spaceships 101- 1st period- Week #2

Jaina was standing in front of the flight shed's simulator when the class arrived, a holoprojector set up next to her. When everyone had finally showed, she said, "Welcome back. And your reward for showing up again today is that you're actually going to get into the sim today. Most of you don't have experience with the kind of craft we're dealing with in this class- and before anyone gets offended that they've flown this or that, there may be idiosyncrasies between things from my galaxy and yours, that's all." She knew how pilot egos could be. "And because of that we're starting a little slow, with a passenger transport."

She hit a button on the holoprojector, and a blue hologram of about medium size appeared in midair before the students, slowly showing a 360 degree view of a shuttle. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is a Lambca-class T-4a shuttle," Jaina told them. As she spoke, the image changed every now and then to show what it looked like with the wings folded up into the landing position, resembling the letter A. "It's been in use for about fifty years now, transporting passengers, troops and cargo between Point A and Point B. It's equipped with a hyperdrive, and just in case, it's got weapons: both laser and blaster-cannons. Normally this thing flies with a crew of six, but it can operate with a skeleton crew of one, which is what we're going to be doing today."

Shutting the projection off, Jaina ran through a detailed explanation of how to work the controls in the simulator, and specifically how the controls for this ship worked. (Without visual aids, sorry, Anakin.) "Your objective today isn't difficult. Take off from the starting point, and get to the hangar bay door of the cruiser in front of you. Feel free to play with the weapons if you want, but only when you're far enough from the cruiser, please. We generally try not to hit other ships until they're firing on us, especially not friendly ones. Take off, fly, park the ship in its berth, that's all. If you need help, or if you want to try something harder, let me know."
