Carpe Diem: Making Your Lives Extraordinary, Period 4, Class 6

Drake had a quote written on the blackboard: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while you could miss it."

"A very wise man once said these words," Drake said, "and since you had a rough weekend, I'm going to go easy on you and let you watch an inspirational movie about seizing the moment and enjoying life. Your assignment for the week is to do something fun, something you've never done before. And there will be a quiz."

Like you can't possibly be expected to handle school on a day like this.

Or take a nap, or talk amongst yourselves. It's all good.

I recall Central Park in fall, how you tore your dress, what a mess, I confess....

Oh, nevermind, one's a cat, the other's in Texas.

"What do you mean nothing good? We've seen everything good. We've seen the whole city! We went to a museum, we saw priceless works of art! We ate pancreas!"

(Sorry, was sick last night and couldn't bring myself to write class. So movie day! \o/ )

Nobody Owens

Making it to class had been slow going but he'd done it and felt good about that. His feet were still sore and his knee ached but it was less so than it had been. A good set of painkillers and better bandages from the clinic helped with that.

He stretched out and set in to enjoy the movie, grateful to have some more time to relax before getting himself back into the motions of classes.

Chloe was relieved to have something easy to pay attention to right now.

Emma was there, slightly bored by the movie, so she was writing a letter to Hank instead.

Kennedy

Even after a few hours' restful unconsciousness Kennedy was still feeling the sleep deficit of the past several days, and she wasn't going to argue with a movie day.

Besides, she'd never been to an orgy before yesterday. That totally counted as the assignment for the week, right?

...yeah. She'd call it a day at that, and just half-doze off at her desk, absentmindedly stroking the fur of the guinea pig cradled in the crook of one arm. Thank god Tara was pretty docile as an animal (that probably wasn't a surprise); Kennedy had never been cut out for strenuous pet looking-after.

Helen didn't mind another restful class. Especially after having spent a bunch of time dozing in the sun.

Cloud listened quietly, and wondered if everyone was having such a hard time dealing with...life.

Perks of being him, apparently he wasn't gettig any more stressed over crisis.

Jason had absolutely no problem relaxing for the whole class period. He was still feeling pretty out of sorts, even days later, so he sat and did his best to pay attention to the movie.

The cat was there.

Her words of wisdom at the moment were limited to "pet me and feed me shrimp, please," but she was there, curled up in a beam of sun.
