Home Ec is Outrageous!; Monday, Period Five [ 08/02 ].

Once again, it was as nice a day as Aquaman had hoped for today's class, he had still invited his students out of the home ec room and into the great outdoors for some fresh air and aquatic appreciation. And basket weaving.

"Good afternoon!" he greeted them brightly, on the day of one of his favorite classes ever. "I hope you're ready to kick off your shoes and roll up your pants...or skirts...because today, we're getting in the water! In the water is one of my favorite places to be; it's rather appropriate, as the water is my home! Today's a bit of a break from the typical maitenence of hearth and home, a bit of a project to work our minds and fingers and provide not only something beautiful, but something very functional as well. Today we're weaving baskets! Underwater!"

"Now," Aquaman continued, "traditional basketweaving is done outside of the water, but today we're using materials that, thanks to the water softening them and making them more piable, are woven while underwater. Gather around and allow me to demonstrate!"

Not even needing to roll up his sleeves, as his costume was specifically designed for water useage, Aquaman then went over how to weave a basket, all of the work done underwater.

"Now, if you're comfortable with the water and wish to go out deeper for a more underwater experience, please feel free to do so! If you're going to be doing anything with water, you're with the right man to watch over you! I'm not called Aquaman for nothing! But if you'd just like to wade in enough to submerge your basket, there is nothing wrong with that, either. And if you can breathe underwater like yours truly, well, then, I encourage you to submerge yourself in the ultimate basket weaving experience!"

Aquaman clapped his hands together, drawing in a deep, pleasant breath of the wonderful seaside air. "Well, then, weaving wonders, let's get started!"

"Oh, and I've almost forgotten! When you've finished weaving your baskets, I have all these great pipe cleaners and puff balls I bought the other day to decorate them with!"

Jono was wearing that pained, 'well, so much for my leather,' look on his face.

Again.

You'd think he'd learn by now to at least wear trousers that aren't too tight to roll up.

Hinata was...

Well. Alright, she was amused. It sounded like an entertaining skill, if nothing else, and it was such a nice day that playing in the water wasn't a bad idea at all.

Jono's jacket was staying on the shore, today. The poor thing had taken on enough water damage already, he didn't need to destroy it even more. And he was absolutely not going in to the water past his calves today, damn it.

He'd just... make a very small basket. While squatting some.

He gave up on that tactic and just waded in to his hips once he managed to lose his balance and fall over.

Underwater basketweaving.

Right. Well, it was nice to know Fandom hadn't changed during Kate's time away. Even if she'd actually known about this class beforehand.

Alex didn't really have an opinion on basket weaving in general but underwater basket weaving? It actually sounded kind of fun. She was a tiny bit excited about trying it out.
