The Danger Shop looked like an empty room with plastic sheeting on the floor. There was a rack of lab coats off to the side and goggles on a table, one for each student. Hawkeye was already wearing his.

Evenly spread out through the room were dummies, a lot like last week's dummies, only now they had full bodies and were properly clothed.

"Humans bleed. Everything from a paper cut to losing a limb will make you bleed. If you lose enough blood, you'll die. Stop that from happening. I won't force you to be elbow-deep in blood today, so our patients will be bleeding green slime."

He then demonstrated on one of the dummies how to treat a bleeding wound and to recognize the signs of internal bleeding.

The lecture also included demonstrations on treating stab wounds and bullet wounds.

"Your turn! The slime is 100% real world material. It stains. Lab coats and goggles are over there if you need them. Your patients will start bleeding in 30 seconds. Use the materials you have," which were pretty much whatever they or the dummies had on them, "to stop the bleeding. Or get slimed. It's in your best interests to practice stopping the bleeding, but I can't deny you the fun of getting slimed."

Messy or wet!

As Hawkeye takes you through the steps.

Work together, work alone, whatever you like! No blood, just thick green slime that will gush from the wounds. Mod anything from cuts to half-severed limbs!

Who probably knows a tad too much about blood.

The goggles do nothing. Hawkeye's wearing them though, while wandering around eating the cookies (http://drywitmartini.livejournal.com/296.html?thread=312616#t312616) some kind listener left him this morning.

It's a slimy kind of week!

This was Hiccup listening intently, and being glad the liquid they'd be stopping was going to be green slime. Okay, he might have zoned out a little bit at the bullet wounds bit, because he had no idea what a bullet was, but he was all over the stab wounds.

Cara looked not much bored as on very familiar ground, though she did tilt her head in curiosity at the section on bullet wounds.

She was steadfastly ignoring yet another of those leather backpacks appearing at her feet.

See, Hiccup didn't actually look at the dummies before picking one. He just grabbed a lab coat and a pair of goggles, and stopped at a random dummy while he adjusted them.

When he looked down, and it started to bleed green slime, he kind of wished he had picked one. A different one. One that didn't have its right leg half hanging off.

"Oh boy. Good choice, Hiccup," he muttered as he pulled off the lab coat he'd just put on and started packing it into the wound, trying to cover the whole area and put pressure on it while doing his best not to push the pieces apart any further than they already were. The slime was flowing around his hands as he folded the lab coat up, making his impromptu dressing even thicker, and pressed harder.

Kate was just really glad for the slime as she watched. This class could've ended in another near-meltdown for her without it.

It was still kinda gross, though.

Alex really wasn't looking to get slime on him today so he paid attention even if some of this he already knew. If he'd been out of class, that slime would have been getting thrown at other people.

He refrained from that today. Trying to be good and all.

"Until a medical professional says otherwise, there's a chance our friend here could keep his leg," Hawkeye commented, watching Hiccup carefully, but standing back. "Follow the steps, deal with the immediate problem."

Alex got a lab coat and goggles on and found a dummy. He waited a few seconds before the dummy finally started bleeding from a puncture wound near his neck.

It didn't bleed a lot but it was a precarious area so Alex made sure to ball up the ends of his lab coat and press it hard against the wound while leaning over the dummy. His hands were getting slimed but at least the bleeding seemed to be slowing.

Somewhat.

Cara almost wished the dummies were actually bleeding, her leathers were this colour for a reason. With a sigh she pulled off her gloves and started treating a dummy with a sucking chest wound.

Hiccup nodded, but he didn't look away. "I'm on it," he said, folding the lab coat to make another layer, holding the presure steady. The flow was slowing, the slime bleeding through the lab coat dressing more slowly. Another fold, another layer and it stayed mostly white; another, and this one stayed white. "And hey, if he doesn't keep it, he's come to the right place to get a new one," he joked.

Kate chose a dummy with nothing major, just a few fairly minor cuts and one that was a little bigger but not exactly gushing. This turned out to be a very smart choice, as a suitcase, a backpack and even a handbag appeared at her feet while she worked on stopping the bleeding.

Or sliming. Or whatever it was.

Anyway, the bags were distracting, but she was determined to ignore them. It was probably even beneficial to her concentration on the exercise.

This makes me wanna watch You Can't Do That On Television. I so always wanted to be slimed.

Me too! That was the best show.

I was tempted to include getting slimed everytime someone said a certain word!
