Bond had sent his class an email telling them to meet him down at Serenity Cove today. He was there to greet them, along with a number of kayaks laid out above the tide line.

"Good morning," Bond began, using an oar to trace an oval in the sand the rough size and shape of a kayak. "As you can probably guess, this morning we're going to be doing a spot of sea kayaking."

"I realise that it's not something most of you have done, but the water is quite calm today, and not particularly deep here, so provided you're careful, it's unlikely anyone will end up in the water, but in any case there are dry-suits and life-vests that you'll be changing into before we go out."

Bond paused, watching something behind the students. His eyes tracked its movement, but before anyone could turn to see what he was looking at he knelt down in the oval he'd drawn earlier. "Now, if you'd all watch closely as I demonstrate the proper techniques for handling a kayak," he said, taking his oar and showing them the correct way to brace themselves and to paddle.

After he'd gone over things several times, he stood up again. "That's about all the theory you'll need right now, so if you'll all get into your safety gear, we'll be able to start."

The dry-suits will fit over your clothing so there's no need to get undressed in public.

Paddle around the cove, keeping to a depth you're comfortable with.

Careful though, even with the suits to keep you dry, the water is cold enough you don't want to tip over and fall in.

He won't tell you what he saw though.

Only one today, woe.

Mmm nekkid.

The kayak didn't look too difficult (but, then again, Jonas knew he was probably wrong on this point) and it meant he didn't have to swim again.

Unless he tipped over, of course. He was so caught up in that train of thought that he didn't even see the sight that snagged Professor Bond's attention.

Jonas carefully pulled on the dry suit, wriggling a bit to make sure he didn't catch anything sensitive anywhere too tight. Even someone who knew nothing knew that.

With thoughts of tipping over in his mind, Jonas made sure to go over Professor Bond's demonstration in his head several times. Even when he was sure he'd memorized it, he still took it slow, paddling about once every minute to make sure his balance was good.

And though he managed not to tip over, even the slowest of turtles was probably laughing at him somewhere.

Gwynn got into the suit and made sure everything was fastened up like it was supposed to be.

This reminded Gwynn of the boats back home, but she still took things slow until she was comfortable maneuvering it about.

Sam Winchester

Sam hoped that the water wasn't too cold, not that he intended to end up in it, of course.

Not getting undressed in public? Oh yes, Sam was all over that, thank you very much.

Sam was careful as he paddled, although he managed to go a little faster than poor Jonas. Still, he didn't want to end up in the water so he figured it was better to be safe than impressive.

Kayaking! AWESOME!!!

Kurt was beside himself with glee.

No, the dry-suit didn't start to disappear when Kurt began pulling it on, until he tapped his watch and it faded back into visibility. Don't be silly. It must have been your imagination.

Kurt paddled around like a mad fiend -- the deep water didn't bother him a bit, and he wasn't too worried about tipping. He almost did tip over once, but there was a puff of smoke and the kayak righted itself.

Kyle Reese

Kyle wasn't comfortable being out in the open like this, but there was a skill to master, and Professor Bond was pretty good at keeping an eye on things. As long as Kyle stayed at the right depth, he reasoned that he'd be able to tumble out of the kayak and get to cover over there (he'd located a suitable place as he always did) under water without drowning or getting shot at.

Most of his focus stayed on his surroundings, but whatever was left went into learning how to do this kayaking thing properly.

Kyle was out kayaking for most of the period, but once he was convinced he knew how to get from A to B via kayak, he made his way back to the shore and kept an eye on everyone else.
