"Today's class is rather specific," she had to admit as her students filed in, "but something I've found extremely useful in my time. It is also something that almost anyone with magical ability can use as well as something that is allowed by rule of law even in my own world."

That last part was for Jack ~~if he was here~~.

She held up a string.

"Knot magic. One of the most common bits of thaumaturgy you're likely to find, one of the simplest to perform, and one of the most powerful. There's something psychologically satisfying to tying a knot... or untying a knot, as the case may be, which is why this form of magic shows up in any number of cultures over the years. Your supplies are simple enough and the uses are varied, though the effect can be subtle. Subtle, however, is not always a bad thing."

She passed out a page on the history of knot magic for them to read later, as well as a few more handouts on the basis of knot magic, and some basic workings with knot magick.

"They can also be prepared ahead of time, worn on your person unobtrusively, and if disguised cleverly, given to someone without their knowledge of it's power. While this is ethically dubious in some cases, I believe we're all familiar with the fact that life doesn't care much for politeness at times."

She leaned back.

"Today, I'd like you to take some of the provided ~~moddable~~ string and rope and work on the spells that might be the most useful to you. Work alone, together, discuss thoughts with the basic theory: whatever you like. I'll be here if you have any questions."

Dōjima was there, playing with her string and trying to work it into what appeared to be a complex game of cat's cradle.

She was actually trying to make the lines for one of the simpler Witch traps she knew, but this way was much more fun.

Savannah was here, working on several different kind of knots.

Agnes picked up a few pieces of string and fiddled with them idly while she watched everyone else.

She was halfway done with a lace doily before she realized what she was doing.

Leda was still in Elf Princess mode from her previous class. You'd think she'd been bitten by a gremlin.

Eleanor glanced at her curiously.

Leda noticed her watching, and nodded to her cordially. "Hello Eleanor. I trust you are well?"

Odd. No cute little names? No eager, glad to see you reaction?

"I'm quite well, thank you for asking." She gave Leda a quick look-over. "Are you well?"

"I adopted a somewhat different identity for my last class. I'm finding it difficult to recover."

A slight wrinkle appeared across her brow as she frowned. "Which class was that? And is there a way I can help?

"Practical Etiquette. I have a plan that should work, but I can't do anything about it until after classes."

"I didn't think that class would have such as changing one's personality from the description I saw. I nearly signed up for that."

"It normally doesn't. But today there was a dinner party with all the high society rules that that implies. I think it was just me who changed so much."

She made a face. "I've never been fond of high society. All that posturing and posing. We should do something this weekend to have you make up for that."

"Oh that sounds like a good idea." Leda agreed. "Any ideas?"

"I haven't really gotten out of the dorms much," she admitted. "Maybe we could find somewhere to do something fun?"

"I've been out wandering, there are several options."

"Then perhaps I should let you choose," she grinned. "Would Sunday be good?"

"Yes Sunday would be a good day."

[Technically that movie thing is Friday I think but yeah.

"Great! I'll see you then," she smiled.
