Beach Play - Tuesday - Period 5

Today in addition to the towels sitting around the beach, there were tons of plastic shovels, buckets and other moddable sandcastle making type of things. It wouldn't be hard to guess what they were doing today.

"A nice thing to do in between swimming time at the beach is play in the sand. And, no, I don't mean throwing sand at people. Not only is it mean but it naturally provokes retaliation and by the end of it everybody's got sand up their ass and absolutely nobody wants that. Unless you're a really, really sick person," he said. Marshall guessed he could probably find some sand porn on the internet. "I was thinking more of the sand castle variety."

"I can't really teach you how to build a sandcastle because it's one of those things where it's all about your creativity and there's no wrong answer. Unlike some other activities. Like basketball," Marshall said. He coughed. "I can offer you some tips. Make sure the sand is wet but not too wet. Dry and soaking wet sand will get you nowhere. Don't be afraid of sand crabs even if they do feel gross, decorate with seashells and, for the love of god, make sure you take high and low tide into account before building. There's nothing worse than having a completely bitching sandcastle destroyed before anybody can see it."

"So I got you guys all sorts of stuff for making sandcastles. I want you guys to make a sandcastle of your own and then after feel free to do whatever you want," Marshall said. He was easy like that. "If you bury someone else in the sand please dig them out before class is over."

Marshall already felt bad about the sand that's going to be in some very uncomfortable places for some people.

Priestly mighta messed up on the whole "don't get the sand too wet" thing.

If asked, he would simply declare himself the dribble-castle king.

This? This was almost as good as eating for a grade. Francine could make sand castles all day. She even had an icon for it!

Hannibal could not unhear the whole 'sand up your ass' line and it was killing his brain.

Hannibal hadn't made a sandcastle since he was a kid so castle was lopsided, sinking and generally lame looking. He didn't care. He was getting graded to play in sand.

Adora made a note to ask Marshall questions about basketball as she endeavored to learn how the sport worked.

She was also going to be keeping an eye on anyone getting 'buried in the sand' as this sounded quite dangerous.

Adora didn't quite understand building a castle from sand. "Perhaps if we build a very nice castle, we could entice some small people or animals to take up residence!"

This class was just ... something. Could teachers say things like 'up your ass'? Eleanor was a bit embarressed by that.

...though not as much as when she'd go to change into that ... swim outfit.

Oh My God.

Hrm, maybe this part wasn't too bad. It was actually a bit fun to play in the sand.

And it also meant she could use one of those handy sarong things to cover up that skimpy outfit.

Romeo sifted sand between his fingers idly; in a moment, he might even get to building a sandcastle himself.

Tuesdays were weird days for Jaina. First she had a class about digging stuff up and apparently how to protect said stuff from Nazis, and now she was supposed to play in sand. He did realize it was sand, right?

"There's the sand crabs," Francine pointed out helpfully. "Small people would probably be disappointed when the tide washed their castle away." Or, you know, drowned, but vaguely wistful, she could handle. Tragic, not so much.

Prince Edward was thoroughly thrilled at the idea of making sand castles.
