Marshall looked kind of sad today. He was going to miss this class. Now he had to find another excuse to order one of everything off the Ching Tai menu because "research" probably wasn't going to cut it anymore.

"Hey guys, welcome to the last class. It's time to administer the final, which I hope has been less stressful than the other ones you might have had," he said. "Everyone come up to the front of the class one at a time with the food you've chosen and say a little bit about what you like about it. Then we get to eat."

Mmm eating. That brought his mood up a bit.

"And let me just say that this has been an awesome class to teach. Not only because, you know, I hardly had to do any work and I just got to eat food the whole time. But because you guys were awesome," he said. "I hope to see you guys in another class or around town or something. I don't feel bad about serving you booze at the bar now that I'm not going to be your teacher anymore."

He didn't feel too badly before, but still. He would have felt bad if he was responsible for a kid's hangover.

"So let's get started, shall we?"

Viki had brought a rather large array of many kinds of sandwiches.

"Sandwiches," she informed him (and them, she supposed), "as there are so many different kinds that you could hardly ever get sick of them no matter how long you've been eating them--and I should know, all things considered, though there's no accounting for taste--and they're very terribly easy to transport and depending on what you put on them, they can last for a goodly while as well. That's about all, I would assume, though I don't like to, unless there was a problem with my choice of food?"

She was very simply going to settle in and eat one of the sandwiches she had brought. Mmmm.

"So, um, I really like you, Mr---- Marshall, and you're one of the coolest teachers ever?" She... actually wasn't sucking up. "But I think it's totally unfair of you to make us pick one favorite food. Just for the record."

Francine pulled a rather large cooler-bag off her shoulder. "So I picked ice cream because at least you can't make me choose just one flavor."

Plop. Half-pint of Cherry Garcia on the desk. Plop. Half-pint of Karamel Sutra. Plop. Half-pint of Phish Food. Plop. Chunky Monkey. Plop. Chubby Hubby. Plop. Mission to Marzipan. Plop -- no seriously, is it scientifically possible for that many containers of ice cream to even fit in that bag? It's like a clown car! Plop. Jamaican Me Crazy. THUD. ...That was the Half-Baked. There was a pint of that.

That was probably chocolate sauce on the tip of her nose. Either that, or she actually was sucking up to the teacher.

"Tacos! You can put all sorts of stuff in them!" Marco said cheerfully. "And if can't eat stuff you can just skip it and they taste good."

"Okay so you know I'm not really mad at you about making us pick a favorite food, right?" Francine had to check. Though that wasn't why she came over to bug him.

Marshall smiled. "I know. I have a hard time believing you could be mad at anybody."

"I brought pizza," Jen said sheepishly. "Mostly because, yeah, I work at Pizza Planet, but also because believe me, you really don't want me cooking. Not to mention that I have a pretty sentimental attachment to pizza, since I pretty much lived off of it for a year when my, er, roommates and I couldn't afford to buy groceries . . ."

She trailed off, scratched at her ear, and gestured to the stack of boxes. "And it's really a versatile food. I mean, have you seen the list of toppings?"

Uh oh, out came the notecards.

And the laptop. With the Powerpoint presentation.

No, seriously, there was a Powerpoint.

Someone had better stop her before it started up . . .

Oh, like Jen was going to eat the pizza she saw two days a week every week, and had for over a year? When there were tacos and ice cream?

. . . not tacos with ice cream. Ew. She was spacing the two out carefully as she alternated between them.

"Heh, heh. I know, right?" Francine, mad? Never.

Well, hardly ever. When it didn't involve getting angry on someone else's behalf. "So anyway." She reached into that bag and... yes, it actually was possible to pull something else out of it. In this case a paper plate with a plastic-wrapped brownie on it. With rainbow sprinkles. "Happy last day of class."

"Oh my god! You made me a brownie!" Yeah, okay, Marshall was way too excited about this. "I love brownies!"

Yeah, we couldn't tell.

"You are the best TA ever! If there was an award for this sort of thing you'd totally win."

"Well, I was already making brownies," she admitted. Technically she probably wasn't supposed to give any away, but what Chuck didn't know wouldn't hurt him. Besides, she'd kind of gone overboard and made two batches. That oregano had gone a long way.

"Oh. Well it's a brownie anyway and I love them!" he said, grinning. "Thanks, Francine. Food is pretty much the best gift ever."
