Flight Club [Flight Shed]

Gavin was hiding under a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap today. Yeah, he knew it didn't do much to hide who he was but it was something. And it made it even less likely that he'd look John in the face after...last night.

Kriffing hell, he hated gremlins. He hated this place. And why the kriff had he been the girl?

"Welcome back. There's snacks." Gavin was just bundles of joy today. "Uh, just...practice with your vehicle of choice in the sim and we'll get back on track next week."

When he wasn't wanting to run and disappear into the deepest hole the island offered.

"Pay particular attention to landings. That'll come in handy next week."

With that, Gavin pulled open the sim's door and started wishing for lightning to strike him down.

Tahiri wasn't feeling too adventurous today (plenty of that over the weekend, thanks) but she was in the mood to get some practice in. So on went the boots (sigh), and she brought up a standard X-Wing combat scenario; nothing too tricky, just something basic but reasonably challenging.

And she did okay, actually -- aside from a few miscues on her laser fire and that one proton torpedo malfunction, anyway. She'd only vaped one enemy fighter, and that had been on a lucky shot, but managed to clip a couple of others and send them careening into debris or their squadmates. And she even made it out with her S-foils intact, her engines mostly intact, and just a minor coolant leak.

Never mind that her landing was the sort of thing that would make deckhands cry for weeks as they tried to get the dents out of the durasteel, okay?

Annja Creed

Look, it was an Annja. She wasn't laughing or smirking, either.

"Look, I just have one question because it has been bugging me all night. It's probably not a question you want to hear though."

Annja came over to her with a grin. "I take it you got the attachment?"

Gavin made a face from somewhere under his hood and shook his head. "Just ask it. Let's get it over with."

She actually wasn't laughing. "Gavin... where... the skirt... where the hell did that monstrosity come from?!"

Because she thought that the people here had better fashion sense than that and the idea that Gavin found something like that kind of horrified her.

"I did! Thank you for sending it," said Hoshi, smiling. "Poor guys. I almost feel bad for them. It was absolutely hilarious."

"I don't know!" Gavin said, making a face. "Probably from Hell or something. I don't remember finding it or anything. Gremlin bites are evil."

"I don't disagree with you there," Annja agreed.

Look, just because she had enjoyed the show last night did not mean she was going to torment him about it. That was just mean and something Annja was not.

"How long do they get free reign on us for saving the island?"

"What, the green bastards?" Gavin asked, making another face. "I have no idea but I'm going to shoot the next one that comes close to me."

"Are we allowed to do that if they attack?"

Because she might be a little concerned about getting bit after seeing what happened to people yesterday.

"Probably not," he admitted with a frown. "But, the thought is nice."

Annja frowned thoughtfully. "It'd make a big mess if we shoot them."

"But it'd be a way to avoid humiliation," he replied.

Marco

Marco was totally not snickering every time he looked over at Anakin, really.

And Anakin was certainly not wondering how much of a mess it would make to pop Marco's head off like he'd done to the zombies.

Robin

"Not really," she admitted. "Should it be?"

"I guess not," Tahiri said. She still looked a little dubious, because having Jaina actually approach her for a conversation was kind of . . . not a usual thing. Also, the concern was a little weird, but not in a bad way. "I'm okay, though." No, she wasn't. "No concussion or anything. Ben just kind of freaked."

"Why would Ben freak?" she asked. Maybe the rib cage had really grossed him out.

Um.

"I was a little unconscious at the time," Tahiri pointed out. Backpedaling, woo!

"Then I don't think I'd call it freaking out," she pointed out.

Tahiri was so not about to go into the reasons why it had been. She kind of liked living. "Well . . . thanks for checking, I guess," she offered with a half smile.
