Turtle definitely had a lot of errands to run before the meeting today. A week of zombie invasion sort of threw a wrench into the whole smoothing-running of things, but it seemed pretty fitting, as that's what she was going to talk about.

First, the coffee and donuts with a little space for the presumed inevitable pie, althuogh she wouldn't have held it against Ned if he didn't exactly have the time to make one or two considering how, less than twenty-four hours ago, they were invaded by zombies.

But business waited for no event. And that's what she'd be talking about.

"Things happen," she started, "and the world keeps spinning, even if it feels like everything just needs to stop for a bit and hold on. The world of business isn't going to hold on for you. It's going to go ahead and if you can't keep up, it'll leave you behind. Some of the things for the kits came in; we'll be working on starting to put them together today."

"But, while the world of business keeps moving, there's still a certain delicate...balance to consider about timing. As in war, so in business. The right move at the right time can lead to victory; the wrong one at the wrong time, however, could be disastrous. Consider, for example, if we were to finish up the kits today and release them to the public. The timing would be terrible. We could get them out this week, easily, I think, but would it be wise? A day late, a dollar short. Not only that, but so soon would make it look like we're trying to take advantage of the recent event and turn a profit from that. People don't like that. We've probably got about three weeks safety area before we could really do much, really."

Turtle shrugged a little. "Get them out during exam week, actually, and we might not only take advantage of the exam stress, but also the support of having them out before anything happens at graduation. The trick to timing, of course, is to be able to hide the fact that you're being advantageous about when you put this stuff out."

It's a fairly relaxed day, considering what it's following, so Turtle mostly just expects people to network with a little side of work.

Ned

Ned had no pies today. He still had a sore wrist which made stirring anything tough. So, he looked a little glum while putting together some kits.

Leto

Leto, having managed to catch up with the events of the past week, was relieved to see the others in one piece.

Turtle made sure everyone had a checklist of things to put in them before carefully going down her own with each new one she filled in.

"Didn't quite get the chance to bake, huh?" asked Turtle, unsurprised and with a small smile that said it was kind of sad, but totally understandable.

"Weren't you, like, a tree or something last week?" Turtle asked, her tone sounding a little bit envious.

"No," he said and frowned. "I got yanked around by one of those things before some...really strong woman rescued me. And then it was just too busy to really think of baking."

"I was," Leto confirmed. "And I've heard I missed a zombie invasion." Not that he was envious about that, but he could have offered some help.

"Yeah..." Turtle said, quietly, trailing off a little with a thoughtful frown.

"You're okay, though, right?"

"Oh, I'm fine," he said, nodding. "I'm just a wimp. And not used to the dead rising from the graves."

And trying not to touch them. Who knows what that would do?

"Ew."

"Yeah." Turtle nodded, then gave a faint, wry grin. "Boy, you sure nailed the timing on that one."

"You're not a wimp," Turtle offered encouragingly, even if maybe just a little part of her thought so, but it was really, really little. She could sympathize, however; it'd taken her a while to get out of her own wimp phase. "And I don't think the majority of us are used to it. I know I'm not."

Although Sandy did, legally, die and live on under another identity. But she'd promised not to tell anyone about that.

"I'm better with the living," he said, shrugging one shoulder. "Even if I'm not even so good with them."

"I'm kind of with you on that one, too," Turtle said, smiling faintly. "Most people, I think, are, too. And you're fine with the living, what are you talking about? I mean, you've even got a girlfriend. That's proof right there that you're not bad at it."

"Well, fine with some people," he amended. "It's gotten better since I got here. Used to be...I just wanted to be alone. Unless it was my dog."

"Wouldn't that get boring after a while?"

"Well, yes, but it's all I had for the longest time so I just...dealt with it," he explained.

Turtle nodded a little. She could kind of understand that, relating it an awful lot to being stuck having just Angela to hang around with.

She also felt it was very amusing and ironic to put Angela on the same level as a dog.

"But this is a lot better, right? Being around people?"

"I think so," he agreed with a small smile. "I mean, there are more things to do, at least."

"Man, it must have been boring where you're from," Turtle mused. "It was pretty boring in Westingtown, too, though. Sending me to this school was a brilliant move on my mother's behalf, which is ironic, considering she just sent me here to get rid of me."
