Shop Class; Tuesday, First Period [11/23].

"Morning, everyone," Amaya said, grinning faintly as she nodded her greeting to her students, clearly a little excited about today's project. "Since it's the turkey holiday coming up here in a few days, I figured we'd take a little break from the bigger projects and do something that's a little more thematic and will allow you to stretch your imagination and use some of the skills we learned earlier in the class, mostly welding with probably a little metal manipulation, bending, and cutting thrown in there, too. Or heck! Even woodworking, if that's the way it steers you!

"As you can see," she said, gesturing toward one of the worktables piled up high with what looked like she'd spent the previous day scouring the junkyard for pretty much anything that wasn't bolted down or rusted through, "we've got ourselves a whole heap of moddable scrap metal, and we're going to try to put it to use making a few metal turkeys! And, as you can see here," she gestured to another table, "I made a few examples so you can get your own ideas on where to start and how to get going, but, I assure you, once you do, it all tends to come quite natural and you'll have a vertible flock in no time!

"I think the two of you," another stout, proud sort of nod, "have got a good grip on things, so let's just gear up and get right to it! Unless you've got any questions, of course."

Fear in Literature, Tuesday 4th period

Jon was back to looking his normal, haunted and run-down self, albeit he was making an attempt and was nicely dressed and his hair was combed.

The board today said: The Vast: Fear of heights, space, deep water, and wide open spaces. Fear of insignificance.

He nodded at the students as they settled. "So. Today's story, "The Nothing Equation", is classified as science fiction rather than strictly horror, though I'm a bit baffled it can't be seen as both. Also, it has very little to do with math, if you were wondering." And if you hadn't read it, Troy.

"It is, however, very much about the fear of the depths of space and the nothing found there, and the insignificance of one human being against all of...well, everything. Do you feel that was well conveyed? How do you think you might do in such a situation? Do you agree with Captain McDowell about the right way to handle the situation?"

After the discussion, next week's assignment was written on the board: Uzumaki.

Ethics, Tuesday, November 23, 2021

There was a note on the door when the students arrived:

Had to travel up to my in-laws early this year. We have three more Thanksgiving dinners to attend this time, apparently. Please write an essay about the ethics of forcing your loved ones to spend time with people they actively loathe once a year under the umbrella of 'it's the holidays' and bring it next week.

Well. At least he'd left you Thanksgiving-flavored candy corn for your trouble? Though that stuff was probably also an ethical violation.

Fixin Stuff- Tuesday- 3rd period

No Danger Shop today, kids! Instead it was a good old movie day!

"Let's ge honest, you don't want to be here, I still haven't packed to catch my flight, this is a useless week," Nick greeted them. "So instead we're gonna watch a classic episode of This Old House. Do kids today know Bob Vila? Well, you're gonna learn about Bob Vila."
